Twisted Wonderland, Evelyn's Story

Preparing for School

"Why do I have to go to school, I have the best teacher here", Evelyn asked, sitting down on her bed, beside her bag that was all packed up

"Because mom and dad want you to socialize", Evelyn's brother, Will stated

"I do socialize", Evelyn retorted

"When you have to... you can't stay behind the castle walls forever, Evie", Will explained as Evelyn sighed, falling backward on her bed

"Must I go through with this", Evelyn asked

"Yep, but don't worry, you'll have mine and Sarah's help at school if you need it", Will stated,

"I'll probably hang out with your girlfriend", Evelyn said with a small smile, "so, how's everything gonna go",

"Since I'm already a grade ahead, I'll leave first, then a carriage should come for you", Will explained, "don't be alarmed when you wake up there, but you'll then be assigned a dorm room, the house wardens give their explanation of the dorm, and that's it",

"Can I still back out", Evelyn asked

"Nope... Royal Sword isn't that bad, dad was there when he was our age", Will stated

"And what about mom, she went to a different school", Evelyn said

"True, but that was when girls were accepted at the time, now it's an all-boys school", Will explained, "Dad befriended the legendary heroes as mom befriended the legendary villains",

"Yet, they are High King and Queen, we've met them too", Evelyn reminded

"I know", Will said as Evelyn sat up

"Do I have to use magic there", Evelyn asked, looking down at her hands

"Evie, stop blaming yourself, it's in the past, no one blames you for what happened", Will stated

"But it was my fault", Evelyn retorted

"You were a little kid, you didn't know", Will said, "besides, your magic is special, all I have is electricity for my unique magic, but does wonders with fireworks",

"Yet, mine can be dangerous if not careful", Evelyn stated

"Evie, give this a chance, who knows, maybe you'll use your magic once again", Will explained,

"And... if the past repeats itself", Evelyn asked

"It won't", Will said with confidence

"But how can you be certain", Evelyn asked

"I know you, Evie, you won't let it happen, and should it ever happen, we'll be there to help you", Will reassured

"Fine... I'll give school a shot", Evelyn said with a sigh

"Good, cause you didn't really have much of a choice", Will teased

"Shouldn't your carriage be here by now", Evelyn asked

"In a few minutes, get your last-minute stuff in, your carriage will be here soon, I'll see you at school", Will said, leaving the room, Evelyn gave another sigh as she got up from her bed, walking out to the balcony from her bedroom, getting a good view of both the town and landscape, knowing that she won't be able to see it for awhile, looking at her phone, she sighed once again, re-entering her room to grab her bag, this was it, it was time, walking down the castle hallways, the servants all wished her luck which brought a smile on her face, as she walked out of the castle, a black carriage awaited.
