Evelyn ran down the hallways, the alarms and intercom blaring as she finally reached the room both Rook and Epel were in, activating her signature spell, she rose her left hand, green thinner shooting out from it and hitting the door, the door turned green before it disappeared, both Rook and Epel looking at the aftermath in shock.
"We have a possible security breach here", Evelyn explained, "we gotta find the others, and fast, Idia's gonna need our help",
"Then let's head over to HQ", Vil said, "Vil and the others should be on the move, follow me and stay close",
"Huh", Evelyn asked as Rook walked past her.
"He used his signature spell on one of the cosmetic bottles", Epel explained, "he's tracking Vil's movements",
"Make-up and magic... something that's easily overlooked with today's society", Evelyn mumbled, she and Epel following after Rook; leaving the training facility and arriving at the entrance of Styx's Headquarters, the building was now dark.
"Tarnation... I thought this buildin' looked big before, but it's a whole 'nother story up close", Epel said, gazing up at the building.
"It was almost a letdown how easily we made it here", Rook stated, "no one so much as questioned our presence",
"With everything going on, everyone's scrambling to get the power back on", Evelyn explained, "at least maximum security's still offline... but I don't know for how long",
"HEEELP, SOMEONE, ANYONE", a man shouted, gaining their attention; security was chasing after a worker of Styx.
"Those armored soldiers are attackin' an islander, ain't they on the same side", Epel asked.
"I'm not certain, but regardless, we must save him", Rook stated, the three running over.
"Output at maximum, termination mode engaged", a security guard said, readying its weapon.
"Eliminate target, eliminate target, ELIMINATE TARGET", the other guard repeated.
"What are they doing, these Charons aren't acting at all like the ones from the other day", Rook said.
"They're safety's off... something must've happened to either Idia and Ortho", Evelyn stated, "they're the only ones who can stop this at the time... it's out of anyone's hands",
"Epel, Evelyn, we must retreat for now", Rook said, turning his attention to the man, "Monsieur, can you stand",
"I think so...", the man said.
"I'll secure our path, Epel, back me up", Rook ordered, "Evelyn, lend the man your shoulder",
"Got it", Evelyn said as five more security guards showed up.
"Eliminate, eliminate, ELIMINATE, ELIMINATE", the guards repeated in unison, charging up a beam.
"I don't think my barriers can withstand their onslaught", Rook stated, "Everyone, run, faster than an antelope",
"Technomantic bean recharged, target locked", a guard said, "firing in three, two, one... Fire",
"I DON'T THINK SO", Epel shouted as the beam shot out, Evelyn threw the man to the side before bracing for impact...
