Third Person POV
The twins look out the windows as everything goes past them in a blur. This is the first time the two of them have left the dukedom so they try to take it all in.
Their mother and father talk about the banquet while they occasionally stealing glances at the twins who sit across from the couple.
Allen is already at the imperial palace since he's close friends to the crown prince and him and the crown prince went straight from the academy to the palace so that they weren't late.
Allen isn't close to the twins, in fact, no one is close to the twins because they are so closed off from the outside world.
"Momma?" Dahlia suddenly asks her mother.
[Mommy's girl.] Aconitum says to Dahlia through their bond.
Dahlia ignores her twin sister.
"What is it sweetheart?" Alina, their mother, asks.
"What is the imperial palace like?" Dahlia asks in her sweet and elegant voice.
Dahlia wants people to like her, she craves other peoples acceptance. Some people would believe that she's an attention seeker or etc., but she just wants acceptance.
And maybe it's just because Aconitum doesn't care for anybody or about what they think of her, she just does her.
Aconitum lives care free while being everything that Dahlia isn't, and Dahlia is everything that Aconitum isn't, it's a twin thing...
"It's a grand place, it is far beyond our own residence. It even has a beautiful imperial garden that is reserved for the queen herself." Alina says happily.
"What about its horses and training grounds? Does it have a forest too?" Aconitum says excitedly.
"Why do you care about those things? We are supposed to be ladies." Dahlia scolds Aconitum with a glare.
People may think that Dahlia is being rude or disrespectful to her twin sister but that's not the way Aconitum sees it, she's use to her twins behavior.
Dahlia is graceful, elegant, and everything that meets a 'proper' ladies standard in this world.
Aconitum is nowhere close to it if you know who she truly is. Of course she will be on her best behavior out in public, but she's not truly like that.
"Don't be rude to your sister, Dahlia." Theodor, their father, scolds Dahlia.
"Sorry father." Dahlia says as she lowers her head.
Aconitum turns her face away to hide the smirk on her face as the carriage comes to a stop.
"Woah~! Look at this, D!" Aconitum says excitedly as she continuously pokes at the window until Dahlia moves to look out the window too.
"Woah~!" Dahlia stares out the window in awe.
The coachmen opens the door and Theodor gets out first, helping his wife out.
"Come on girls." Alina, says with a small smile.
Aconitum gets goosebumps from her mothers smile while Dahlias smile gets bigger from her mothers own smile.
"Okay momma!" Dahlia exclaims excitedly as her father helps her out of the carriage.
Aconitum pouts because her younger sister got out before her because she pushed her out the way, but she gladly excepts her father hand to help her get out.
"Follow me girls." Alina says as she walks down the path of the servants and into the imperial palace.
Dahlia attempts to gracefully look around while Aconitum swings her head around to look at everything as they pass by it.
Theodor laughs at this as he watches his eldest twin daughter try and look at every little thing.
Dahlia glares at her sister because she looks like a fool trying to take everything in without missing even a spec of dirt on a table.
They come to a stop in front a wide set of doors with two servants on each side.
"Duke and Duchess Thorn." Theodor says in his business voice.
Alina turns around to look at her two daughters.
"Stay here until they tell you, the king and queen have already been announced and as the special guests and birthday girls, you will be announced last. Okay?" Alina says to her two daughters.
"Yes momma." Dahlia exclaims.
"Yeah...sure mother." Aconitum says as she avoids making eye contact with her mother.
"And I know that I don't need to tell Dahlia this but, Aconitum, behave." Alina scolds her eldest daughter before smiling at Dahlia.
"She'll be fine, honey. Let's head inside before they think we are late." Theodor says to his wife before giving Aconitum a playful wink.
Aconitum grins at her father before the twins move away so that their parents can be introduced.
"Presenting Duke Theodor Grey Thorn and Duchess Alina Grace Thron!" The two servants announce at the same time as the couple gracefully walks into the banquet hall.
"Mother is so amazing." Dahlia says as she stares at her mother back while the servants close the door behind the couple.
"Dads hot." Aconitum says plainly.
[Why would you say that out loud?!] Dahlia scolds her sister through their connection.
[But dad is hot! Moms pretty while dads pretty hot! What do you want from me?!] Aconitum says back while looking at her sister.
"Ugh." Dahlia turns to face the double doors again.
Aconitum shrugs her shoulders before she goes into her 'graceful, elegant and perfect daughter' mode.
"Aconitum Grace Thorn." She says to the servants.
"Dahlia Grace Thorn." Dahlia says as she glances at her sister who is acting perfectly.
If she hadn't seen her sister like this and someone had told her about it, she wouldn't believe that person not even in a million years.
She was astonished at how perfect her older twin sister could act, she almost wished that she would be like this all of the time.
But then her life would be boring...
The servants swing open the door as they announce the twins arrival.
"Presenting Lady Aconitum Grace Thorn and her twin, Lady Dahlia Grace Thorn!" The two servants announce in sync.
The twins look at each other before they begin to walk through the doors with an air full of grace.
The crowd of nobles goes silent as they look at the beautiful set of twin girls who are now descending down the stairs of the banquet hall.
[You are doing good, T. I'm proud of you.] Dahlia says honestly.
[Soak it in while you can, as soon as we get to the bottom of these king ass stairs, the real me is coming back.] Aconitum says as she tries to hide her smirk.
Six boys around the same age as the twins, stare at the girls like they are the only people in the whole world.
No matter how hard Aconitum tried to act 'lady' like, the air of mischief and trouble still gathers around her. While Dahlia has an air of grace and elegance around her.
As the twins take their last step on the stairs, the crowd of nobles breaks out into claps for the two girls.
Dahlia smiles at everyone while Aconitum smirks at everyone.
[Be proper, your embarrassing me.] Dahlia says through their connection.
[Now you know how I feel every time we are together with other people. Your embarrassing me and my awesomeness.] Aconitum says back as they curtesy to the king and queen, along with the two princes and one princess who sit by their parents side.
Both of the twins lower their heads as they roll their eyes in sync because of the other.
