I run through the halls in a hurry as I try and get to my class. I'd say 'on time' but I'm twenty minutes late already since Dahlia didn't wake me up.
I'm not trying to point the blame at anyone but, it's definitely Dahlias fault, she knows that I'm not a morning person.
GAHHHHHH!
I really do hate her sometimes and I haven't even had that talk with her yet.
I stop in front of the door and I open it, all eyes go to me and I quickly walk to my seat and the teacher sends me a glare before he gets back to teaching.
"Where were you?" Damian asks me.
"Why are you late?" Jason asks me.
"We thought that you'd bail." Asher says.
"That's no way a future queen should act." Noah says and I choke on my imaginary water.
"She didn't even show up to the training grounds." Gabriel adds.
"She's didn't show up to our first class either." Owen snitches.
Okay okay...I'm late to this class by twenty minutes but I didn't show up to my previous classes at all. In truth...I really can't defend myself right now...*sigh*
"All of you, shut up." I say as I place my head on my desk.
"What did I do, Aco?" Owen asks pitifully.
I ignore him and let class go on, I'm also pretty sure that I fell asleep in the middle of class but I already know what I need to know.
Someone shakes me away and I groggily look up to see Jessie with a nervous look on her face.
"Um, I-I am s-sorry to disturb y-you b-but class I-is o-over." She says as she fidgets with her fingers.
I look around tiredly and see that almost everybody has already left the classroom. Without saying anything, I stand up and gather my things.
I think that I'm just gonna go back to my dorm.
"Thanks." I mumble as I lazily walk past her but she grabs my arm so I turn and look at her "What?" I ask her with a tired yawn.
"U-um...c-can w-we talk?" She asks me hesitantly.
Hmmm...should I?
I suppose that a quick talk wouldn't hurt especially since I forced her, my sister and the teacher to train with me before the two month break.
"Sure, but I'm guessing we need to go somewhere private. Right?" I ask her as I shake off her hand.
"Y-yes..." She mumbles as she leads the way out of the classroom.
I follow after her and out of the school and to the dorms building since this class was in a different building. We walk past the dorms and we stop at a door where she unlocks the door and lets me in.
She has a dorm to herself already?
That's pretty cool I guess...
"So, what did you need to talk about in private?" I ask her as I plop down in one of the chairs in her room.
Pretty cozy...
"Y-your-" I cut her off even if it's rude.
"Drop the act already, it's just the two of us and I'm not in the mood to put up with your baby sheep-like act, I've already found out that you're a wolf." I say to her casually as I lean back in the chair.
Immediately the air changes, her posture changes and everything about her changes.
I watch her with a smirk on my face as she begins to talk.
"Your sister has been acting weird." She starts off.
"My sisters always been weird, both of us are bound to be weird since we are everything that the other isn't and we are also everything the other is." I say lazily and she rolls her eyes.
I like this wolf in sheep's clothing...for not at least.
"Stop talking and just listen. She seems like she's going a little crazy, she's constantly mumbling things and she's dropped everyone she usually hangs out with. She even stopped messing with me." She says with a scoff.
"You know...I'm actually liking you right now. I prefer the real you over the whole act." I say honestly.
"I still hate you." She says as she crosses her arms as she sits down on her bed "But I think you should talk to your sister." She tells me.
"Fine, I'll talk to her later but I think that we should really hang out. I don't have many female friends and if you hang out with me you can stop acting." I tell her as I lean forward.
"I'll think about it since I really do hate acting, it really does get tiresome. Plus, your a dukes daughter and connections should be made while I'm here." She says to me.
"Tsk-Tsk." I say as I shake my finger "I don't do that connection shit, I do things that can grant me power. If- when we become friends, you'll have to swear your first life oath to me." I say with a smirk on my face.
There's three life oaths that you can make, and once you swear one of them, you can't take them back.
The first life oath is where you give someone your life, power- including the power of your spirits -and you basically become a sort of slave. Whoever you swear this oath to has control over your life.
They can kill you at any time.
The second life oath is where you swear your magic- including your spirits powers -to someone. Most people use this oath so that their powers don't get out of control.
The third life oath is mainly used by leaders like the kings and queens or generals and commanders.
With this oath, you swear your life, so your undying loyalty. Because if you do try and betray whoever you swore this oath to, they can kill you.
I only want to first life oath...
"No." She immediately rejects me.
"Believe me when I say this, I know about you more then you know. I know that you despise the king because of what he put your birth parents through.-" She interrupts me.
"How do you know that?!" She shouts as she quickly stands to her feet.
"I also want you to know that I hate the king just as much as you do. I know that the king doesn't plan on stepping down either. I had dinner with him some time ago and we both have already warned each other." I tell her as I stand up with a smirk on my face.
"..." She doesn't say anything but I can see the wheels turning in her head.
"So, make a wise decision and choose between me and the king. Even if we loose, which won't happen, I have other empire who want me. And I have no problem with being along the people who swear their first life's oath to me." I tell her.
"H-how-?" She starts saying but I cut her off.
"You have till the end of the week to decide, I'll be patient with you. But I protect those who stand beside and behind me, and a word of advice..." I trail off as I look her in the eyes.
"W-what?" She asks hesitantly.
"You don't wanna be in front of me or against me. I know more then what meets the eye, I have connections that you couldn't even dream of. I may look like I'm standing alone, but I anything but alone." I say as I place my hand on her shoulder as I walk past her "I'll talk with my sister since she's my problem...but I advise you to make your decision quick since the king will make a move soon. Be smart." I say before I exit her dorm room.
I walk down the hallway and up stairs.
Now is my chance to take care of Dahlia...I've been far too patient with her and I need to know what she's hiding now.
There's no time like the present...
