Natasha's pov
„Tell her what your name is cutie.", Clint tells his little daughter, who's hiding behind his legs just like Alanna is behind my legs. She shyly looks at me. I nicely smile at her, Alanna smiles as well and she smiles back.
"I'm Lila...", she says with her cute squeaky voice. Then she holds her hand towards Alanna.
Aww! She's telling her to hold her hand!!
Alanna did. She held her hand and all of a sudden they were running up the stairs to Lila's room. The last things I could see were the colors of their little dresses. Red and pink.***
I feel safe with this family. They treat us like normal people. They're polite, kind and respectful. Clint's wife even has been trying not to ask something inappropriate. Her and I get along pretty well. Since I'm a new mom she's giving me some parenting advices, which I find really meaningful. Clint is playing with his son and the girls upstairs. That's until we hear a loud boom.
Instantly my thoughts are on Alanna. Laura and I look at each other then together walk up to see what happened. Someone got hurt. Lila."Mommy!", she cries. Her face red and full of tears.
"What happened Clint!? I thought you were taking care of the kids!", Laura says concerned carrying Lila up to comfort her. She immediately calms down in her mothers arms. Clint then stands up.
"I'm sorry cutie, I promise I'll take care of you better next time.", he tells his daughter caressing her head. She just nods but obviously doesn't want to stay in the room.
Alanna takes my hand and all four of us walk back down in the kitchen.
"Mommy?", Alanna asks whispering.
"Yes?", I answer.
"Why does Lila speak so weird?"
"She's not speaking weird sweetheart. It's normal for little kids to speak like that."
"Do I speak like that?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because you've had more practice cutie."
She smiles at me.
"Ok!"
***
"Alanna c'mon let's take a picture of you!", I shout once again. I've been calling for her more than three times and she still hasn't come. I wonder what they're doing...
This picture is really important to me. I want Alanna to have a lot of memories, mostly because I know she's going to forget most of the things that will happen."I'm coming!" I hear her shout from the other side of the house. Soon after, she's standing in front of me.
"There?", she asks pointing at the Christmas tree. I nod smiling.
Before I take the picture she gives me a 'please do it fast mom.'
So I quickly take a picture. She looks so beautiful! I even have to tear up. She means so much to me, I can't even imagine a life without her anymore, even though we've only known each other for a couple of months.
