After that Christmas the Barton's and the Romanoff's spent every Christmas together. It was good for the kids since they barely have interaction with other kids.
Alanna loved playing with with her cousins. And Natasha loved talking to Clint and his wife. Every time Nat had to go on a mission Alanna stayed at Clint's house. But it never was more than 2 days. She couldn't stay much longer without her and she couldn't go anywhere without Natasha. Alanna also hated it when her mother went to work, but Nat sadly had to.
Just now Natasha was having a big discussion with Nick.
"What do you mean it will take more than 2 days Nick!?"
Nick stayed quiet.
"How long will it take...?", she furiously asked.
"I don't know Natasha, you're working with Stark it could be weeks."
Weeks!? Why weeks? Natasha thought. But on the other hand, she had heard a lot of Stark so she could understand why he said weeks.
Now there was her 5 year old daughter who literally couldn't stay more than two days away from her mother.
"You can leave Alanna with Clint's family, I already talked to them.", he said trying to comfort her. But that didn't work at all. Natasha was still mad, because Nick knew Alanna, he knew she wasn't going to react well. She had her mom's temper, on one hand it was good but on the other hand that was like a curse.
"When do I have to go?"
"Tomorrow you should be here no later than 10 a.m."
Natasha sighed.
"Great." She said looking at the floor trying to figure out how to tell it her daughter.
"I'll be there.", is the last thing she said before walking out.

All this time Alanna had been waiting in the reception since Natasha thought that this talk wouldn't take too long.
"Mommy!", Alanna shouted running up to Natasha and jumping on her. The young girl was really happy to see her mother, even though she had just been gone for half an hour.
Natasha carried her up.
"I missed you!", Natasha said in joy. But that joy soon faded away by the thought of her mission. She still had to tell Alanna.
"Mommy, can you please tie my shoestrings. They have been open since you left."
Alanna loved being babied by her mother and she loved it when her mother did things for her. Some people thought that sometimes it was too much. But Natasha loved saying yes to her baby. She loved seeing her daughter happy and she wanted her childhood to be better than hers, so because of that she always agreed to what Alanna said.
"Sure cutie.", Natasha said kneeling down.
"Оберните этот хвост вокруг петли, протолкните его через отверстие и потяните. Затяните эти шнурки, у-у-у-у, теперь вы заслуживаете крепких объятий!", she told Alanna in Russian.
(Wrap this tail around the loop, push it through the hole and pull. Tighten those laces, woo, now you deserve a big hug!).
It was important to her that Alanna didn't forget the language. She already spoke English and Spanish but now somehow she was forgetting the Russian.
