My biggest fear now

"I'm so so sorry моя любовь...", Natasha told Alanna letting a sad warm tears roll down her eye and holding her daughter tighter.

30 minutes after the incident Natasha arrived at the med bay and believe me, she was furious. And not at anyone else but herself.

'I should have been there for her, I shouldn't have been fighting with anyone, I should've been with her...' Natasha thought.

Yes, yes, she was being really harsh on herself. No one was expecting that explosion, it just happened! And it didn't end up good for anyone.

Think about it, Natasha had to face one of her biggest fears, and she didn't have many, she had to face the hulk and not to forget she fought against her best friend, against her soul brother!

She didn't enjoy that pretty much.

So Nat had been through a lot this day. And now she was sitting next to her daughter, who had a broken arm and a bruised leg, juhuuu!

"It's not your fault mommy...", Alanna whispered touching her moms left cheek with her good arm, which was the right one.

"I'm sorry I came so late and couldn't be here during the process..."

"It's ok, Steve was here the whole time! He told me stories about his time and the way he fought and the way he was before being a soldier and lots of other stuff! He's sooooo cool mommy, we should hang out with him more often I'm pretty sure you would like him..... as a friend of course."

If you had seen Alanna at this exact moment you would be laughing yourself off. Before talking about Steve this poor little girl was tired and all of a sudden she changed to herself again. This relieved Natasha a lot. She knew that at this moment her little genius baby was back.

"I'm happy you like him.", Natasha told Alanna realizing she was kind of getting tired again. It must've been from all the stress she'd gone through.
She was trying to put Alanna back to bed, when she stopped her.

"Please let me sleep here momma, I like it, it's more comfortable.", Alanna said tiredly.

"Ok мое сердце, I'll hold you till you wake up again.(my heart) ", Nat whispered to her stroking her hair until she finally fell asleep.

*in the jet on their way to New York*

On the ride everyone was silent, they still had to process what had just happened. Clint was flying the jet, Natasha was the co-pilot and everyone else was sitting in the back.

This seemed like the perfect time for her to thank Steve for staying with Alanna while she wasn't in the med bay.

"Steve...", she stood up and called out. Steve quickly looked at her.

I have to admit, Steve really liked her. She seemed the nicest to him even though she could change in one second and be one of the most dangerous ones.

He thought of her as a good friend so that's why he was so happy of hearing her voice calling him.

"Hey...", he said, his face soon exposing a big smile on his face.

"Hey old guy.", Nat replied.

Steve didn't like it when people made this joke about him but when it was her, it was ok.

"What's up?"

"Uhm, I just wanted to thank you for being there for Al when I couldn't...it really means a lot to me."

"Oh, it's ok! I really enjoyed talking to her, she's pretty smart for her age and she taught me a lot too!"

"Yeah, she likes teaching grown ups new things. You should see her when her teacher tries to teach her things at home and she's more sure than ever that she knows things better than her teacher." 

"Yeah, you're raising a really nice child.", Steve told Natasha between laughters.

"Where is she actually?", he then asked.

"Oh, I left her with Maria, it would have been way too dangerous here and there was no time to bring her to the person who actually takes care of her."

"Oh ok."

And if you think this conversation was over after this you were insanely wrong. Guys, that's when the real conversation started! And the talked until they arrived and couldn't talk anymore.

*after the New York fight*

"Maria, when's my mommy coming?", Alanna curiously asked Maria, she had been waiting for her mom for a loooong time, well to Alanna it was a long time since she found it pretty boring at the place Maria and Fury were staying at. She knew she was kinda being annoying but still, she wanted to know.

"Actually, she's on her way here!"

At this answer Alanna's Face lightened up.

"Really!? I'll be waiting for her in front of the door then!"

"Uh, won't you like get bored?"

"Nope, why should I?"

"Uhh, no reason.."

"Mommy, finally!!", Alanna shouted slowly limping towards her mom and afterwards waiting for her to lift her up. Alanna welcomed Natasha with a warm big hug and Natasha replied with an even bigger and warmer one, of course being careful with her broken arm.

Alanna had never felt this way about her mother going on a mission before. The fear that would not go away bothered her. It felt impossible to stop thinking about Natasha after what happened on the ship. Alanna suddenly felt the need to ask if her mother was ok and when she was coming back, she just couldn't stop.

"I missed you mommy..", she whispered, then gave Natasha a kiss on her cheek.

"I missed you too Baby..", Natasha whispered back.

"You wanna go home?", she then asked. Alanna tiredly nodded into her shoulder.
