Nightmare : Wait, if it is about this, why is the rant only about me ?!
He points to the title, upset. Killer puts a hand on his shoulder.
Killer : Relax, Boss. Come on, let's sit down...
Nightmare sits down while grumbling.
Kathleen : Can I start ?
All : Yes.
Kathleen : Great. So, I already explained I have a fair share of problem with the Balance trope, but I remembered one annoying thing... Error isn't the only one who is being depicted as if he had to do his job, even though he doesn't want to. Except... There is a few problems... It works just fine, with Reaper and his Papyrus (Seren) because, well, yeah, they both don't like to kill, it is stated in Reapertale canon. ... I don't fully agree with Error being a Forced God of Destruction thing, but sure, I can see why he is forced. Since Creators don't stop to create, he cannot stop, and at some point, even if he loves it, maybe it will start to feel like a chore. But... WHAT KIND OF IDIOT THINK THAT NIGHTMARE IS FORCED TO SPREAD NEGATIVITY ?! HAVE YOU LOOK AT THE MULTIVERSE ?!
Everyone flinches. Jill pats Kath's shoulder to calm her down and give her a glass of water. She drinks and once she is calmer, resume to her rant.
Kathleen : What I mean, is sure, for those two Balances, it can somewhat makes sense, but the only Multiverse where Nightmare being forced to spread Negativity makes sense is in Dreamswap !! Because there is way too much Positivity. In nearly all other Multiverse you either have a somewhat stable balance or more often yet... TOO MUCH NEGATIVITY !!! If Nightmare doesn't know about the Balance, sure, him spreading Negativity isn't a big deal, though it would be great if someone involved in the Balance could tell him that he is about to cause the destruction of the entire Multiverse... Like... I dunno... How about Reaper and Error who are depicted as his friends in those same stories ?! Or Ink, since this is his freaking job ?!
Ink : Whoah... we are going to lose her again...
Kathleen : Because, yeah, in case you forgot, there is way more negative AUs than positive ones !! Plus, Nightmare is the walking equivalent of nearly a thousand black apples, while Dream is only one golden apple !! It is obvious that the Multiverse needs more Positivity if anything. I get you want to make Nightmare sympathic, like with Error, but, if you want to do that, how about... maybe... Making Nightmare actually being more on the Dadmare side of the thing ? And not making him attacking any AUs ?! Or fight the Star Sans for that matter ? Have Nightmare and Dream actually still getting along, and Nightmare maybe entering negative world to help them improve their condition ? Giving a home to those who don't have one anymore ? You know, like Error, Killer, Dust and Cross you all love to put in the Bad so much.
Ink : The twins could even work together in this case, rather than fighting... Dream would surely be happier in this case.
Kathleen : Of course, this critic don't stand, if you do the relationship of Negativity and Positivity like I described before as two side of a same coin, instead of an actual Balance.
