Just a cute and really, really short fluff piece.

Kim Seokjin was celebrating his 5th birthday the first day he laid eyes on Kim Taehyung. He was three years younger and he was alot smaller at the time.

He was walking slowly towards him with his tiny toddler legs as his mother held his hand.

She walked over to where Seokjin was standing with his mother and handed her a birthday present for Seokjin on behalf of young Taehyung.

Seokjin stood quietly next to his mother and Taehyung walked over to him and smiled. It was the first time that Seokjin felt butterflies in his stomach.

He didn't understand why he wanted to hug the tiny boy. But he asked him if he wanted to go play with him.

Taehyung didn't really understand what he was saying, but held onto his hand as he was being led to the bouncy house.

He helped him inside and showed him how to bounce. Taehyung was having so much fun, until some older kids jumped in and bounced around aggressively. Knocking Seokjin and Taehyung around, making the youngest cry.

Seokjin immediately helped him crawl out and held onto him as he cried, asking for his mother.

When she came running over to them, Seokjin explained that the boys were being mean and pointed at them. She knew that they were just roughhousing and her baby boy was still too small to join them.

So instead Seokjin spent the rest of his party stuck close to little Taehyung. Who loved the attention he was getting from the very beautiful Seokjin.

After that day, they became inseparable due to Tae's mother being new in the neighborhood and she and Jin's mother became close friends.

Jin's father built a small treehouse for him in their backyard. He loved it and he even had a ladder made of rope and steps that he was able to roll up once inside. Growing up, he and Tae would pretend to be pirates or gangsters and their treehouse would be their hideout. Tae loved that he would call it 'their' treehouse.

Their bond continued to grow and they did everything together. They would always be at each other's house's hanging out. Their parents knew that wherever Jin was, Tae was sure to be with him.

They eventually allowed others into their tight group of two. Taehyung first invited Jimin over one day after school and he quickly became their third best friend.

Next, Jin invited Yoongi and Namjoon into their group. And they all remained a very tight knit group all through middle and high school.

As the years passed, Jin knew that he had fallen deeply in love with Taehyung. But Tae has always spoken of how much he cherishes their friendship. And that made Jin think that he only thought of him as a friend.

In reality, Taehyung was just as in love with him and could only share his real thoughts with Jimin. Who would always try to encourage him to confess his love.

But the fear of being rejected and then to lose his best friend made him scared to do anything. So he did the next best thing to do that made sense to him in his young mind. He began to act aloof around Jin so he would never suspect.

He even would "date" other people in front of him and around school. He hoped that by dating others, his feelings for Jin would fade away. But it hasn't worked yet. Jimin would then have to hear about how he broke up with that person.

Jin would see Tae around school with his arms around whatever person he was dating at the time. And his heart would break a little each time. He would lower his head sadly and force a smile on his face.
