Paramour

Paramour: definition
(A lover, especially the illicit partner of a married person.)

Kim Seokjin sat at his desk discussing a proposal that needed to be postponed. Across from him sat his longtime personal assistant Kim Taehyung, who he lovingly calls Tae.

Years of friendship allows him to be on friendly terms with him and he owns a big part of his heart.

Tae has his laptop on top of the desk, working out the details of what they're discussing when the door is suddenly opened.

They both turn surprised by the unannounced intruder.

"Sweetheart! I came to see if you could take me to lunch."

Seokjin aka Jin looked at his assistant, embarrassed by her sudden outburst.

So he walks over to her quickly and tells her, "Darling, what have I said about you coming here unannounced?"

He tries to usher her into the farthest corner of the room, so his assistant doesn't hear him.

But it doesn't do much help, since she responds with a loud whine. "But I was bored, and I missed you. You're never home or you're with your assistant. I just thought we could eat lunch together at least."

Jin takes a deep breath and says, "You're right. I'm sorry sweetheart. I will just let Tae know and I will be right out. Please wait outside for me."

She claps her hands excitedly and kisses him before running back outside.

Jin then walks back towards his desk and tells Tae, "Taehyung-ah, I am going to..."

"Take your wife out to lunch. I heard."

He doesn't look at him as he speaks, and merely pushes his glasses back into place.

"Please enjoy your lunch sir. I will wait for your return as always."

He then grabs his laptop and walks out of the office and towards his own office next door. He bows down to his boss's wife as he passes her.

Jin watches as he walks away, then goes to join his wife.

Several hours later

Jin is taking the elevator to the penthouse. It is something he does four to five times a week.

He receives a call from his wife just as he exits.

"Hello sweetheart."

"Baby, what time are you coming home today?"

"I think I'm going to be really late tonight. So please don't wait up for me."

"But I miss you. Do you have to go to the meeting tonight?"

He nears the familiar door and as if on cue, it opens suddenly and a handsome young man awaits.

He sees his guest on the phone and he shows in him in silently, while removing his coat. He hangs it on the coat rack and helps him out of his shoes as well.

"Yes, I told you these meetings are very important. I thought we've been through this already."

"Ye, we have.. I just.. I want you home. It's been so long since we've.. you know."

He glances at the young man who is standing nearby, waiting for him to end his call. It's something he's already used to. Though he still hates it.
