Kim Seokjin lay in bed with the bedside table light on as he read out loud.

He was currently 7 months pregnant and he liked to read to his daughter so she could hear his voice.

His husband Taehyung sat in a chair a few feet away, listening to his husband read. He closed his eyes and smiled when he saw his husband jump up slightly as he felt his daughter kicking.

"She's quite a kicker Taetae.. I bet you were the same way with your mother."

Taehyung laughs because he can imagine he was. His mother spoiled him so much and he ruled in his house.

But that was nothing compared to how his halmeoni loved and cared for him. He would go every summer to visit her and spend his free time with her.

He learned so much about the farm life from his grandparents and always wanted to raise his own family the same way.

But sadly, they have passed away and he was stuck in the city after that.

It wasn't too bad since he did meet the love of his life here.

They met at the farmers market as they both reached for the same bundle of squash at the same time.

Tae had never seen someone so handsome. And when Jin offered him the squash he knew he was nice.

Handsome and nice. The two qualities that his halmeoni always told him to look for in a husband or wife.

He walked behind him as he continued shopping, and he finally got the courage to talk to him before he left.

They went for a coffee that day, and were soon going on dates. They both knew right away that they were the ones for the other.

When Tae saw his husband getting sleepy and that he had dropped the book. He went close to him and whispered, "Go to sleep love. And dream of sweet things."

The next morning, Jin heard the doorbell and he jumped up in a fright. He looked around and didn't see his husband anywhere.

'He probably already left for work' he said to himself.

He then slowly made his way to the front door as whoever was at the door was impatient.

When he opened it he saw his two best friends at the door looking worried and upset.

He immediately got worried and asked them to come inside.

As they walked in they took a look around the room and saw the kitchen table still had two place sets from dinner. But only one was eaten.

"What happened guys? Why do you look so worried?" Jin asked them.

The smaller of the two named Jimin then rushed over to hug him as best as he could over his large belly.

"Oh Jinnie.. we haven't heard from you in days. We were so worried about you. Especially in your condition. Have you been eating?"

Jin moved back away from him and replied, "Yes, of course I'm eating. I have to take care of my baby. Don't you think her papa will be upset if I hurt his Angel?"

Jimin then turned to his friend and started crying out loud.

Startling Jin. He just looked at them as they both looked at him with anguished faces.

"Jinnie, um.. what have you been doing? You know, day to day?" The other asked.

"Hobi, you know all I've been doing is staying home. I spend my time talking with my baby girl until Tae gets home from work. I read to her and I can feel her move alot more when I do."

Hobi then grabs Jin's hand and walks him towards his bedroom.

Once inside he opens the closet door and sees all of Tae's clothes in boxes. When Jin sees them he is confused and wonders why they're boxed up that way.

He tries to bend down to look at them and sees the words "Goodwill donations" written in black marker.

He then turns to his friends and asks, "What's going on? Why are Tae's clothes boxed up?"

"Because I boxed them up two weeks ago. You had agreed it was time to let his things go so you wouldn't keep getting reminded of him.

You said you were going to drop them off at Goodwill and then we haven't heard from you in days."

Jin looked around and flashes of that conversation popped in his head. He was getting confused and went to sit on the bed.

"Jinnie, will you please come stay with us for a while? Just until the baby is born and we know you will be ok. We can come by everyday after that to help you with the baby and to help around the house."

Jin looked at them in a confused manner, then asked, "But why would I leave my home? What would Tae say if he came home from work and saw that the house was empty? He'd be so worried about us."

His friends then surrounded him on both sides.

"Baby, please listen to us. Tae is gone. He died 4 months ago on his way home from work."

Jin stood up immediately and shook his head 'No' over and over again.

"Y'all shouldn't joke around that way. It's a very cruel joke."

Hobi then searched online and found the news story about the accident that claimed Tae's life then he showed it to Jin.

As Jin looked at it, memories of that horrible day started flooding his mind. And he cried out in agony.

He fell onto the floor as he grabbed his stomach.

His husband is really gone and every time he saw him the past few days have all been in his imagination.

A break from reality. But for those brief moments that he spent with his memory, he was blissfully happy.

In his own little world where his husband was eagerly waiting the arrival of his daughter.

In the corner of the room, Tae's spirit cried out for his love. And how he'll never get to see his angel be born.

As Hobi and Jimin helped Jin up, they gathered a few of his things and then walked out of the room.

They were taking him to get checked out and then he would stay with them for a good while.

As Jin climbed into their car, he took one last look towards his house and saw his beloved at the window.

He waved goodbye to him before fading away forever.

Then Jin broke down crying again as Jimin held him close.

The End.

A/N: 😖😫💔
I'm sorry for this. I had the idea to make this into a book but I don't think I could handle this heartache. I just love TaeJin too much.
