One Summer

Jeon Jungkook and Kim Taehyung were the very best of friends since early childhood.

They grew up a few houses down from each other and did everything together.

From their first day of school, to the games they played as soon as they got home from school.

At school they made friends with others. One was named Min Yoongi. He was a year older than them and was in the same class as Taehyung's older brother Namjoon.

The other was named Jung Hoseok, but everyone called him Hobi. Everyone loved him cause of his chipper personality.

They all hung out together through the years and thought nothing would ever change.

That is until Tae's and Joonie's father died in a car accident. Tae was in 8th grade and Joonie was in 9th.

Their mother was beside herself and though she really tried. She just couldn't handle the loss of her beloved husband. And she felt she couldn't raise the boys on her own.

So with a heavy heart, she packed them up and shipped them off to live with her brother who lives in the states.

Though they begged and pleaded, she wouldn't relent. And in the end, they had no choice but to move away. Leaving her all alone, in total despair.

Jungkook was especially devastated to lose his oldest and closest friend. The others others were also really sad to lose their friends but Jungkook took it the hardest.

At first, they would keep in touch with Tae and Joonie through weekly phone calls and found out they now lived in San Diego, California. And that they were adjusting pretty well.

But their calls became less and less frequent until they just stopped altogether.

When Jungkook and Hobi started high school, they were glad that Yoongi was still there.

And so were a whole bunch of new students from other schools.

That is where Jungkook and Hobi met Jin and Jimin. Seeing Jin for the first time felt like it was love at first sight for him.

He had never seen anyone as gorgeous as Jin before. And thought maybe he was a model or an actor, disguised as a teen student.

They slowly started getting more friendlier with each other, and Jimin and Jin soon started hanging out with their group of friends.

Yoongi and Jimin hit it off right away and soon started dating.

Jin also felt an instant attraction towards Jungkook, but because he only spoke to him as a friend, he assumed that Jungkook had no interest in him.

When Jungkook overheard Jimin telling Yoongi one day that Jin had a big crush on him, he almost leapt for joy.

It took him a while longer, but finally Jungkook confessed his feelings to Jin. And asked him to be his boyfriend.

Jin responded by jumping into his arms and hugging him. Soon they were the schools golden couple.

For over three years they were going strong. Jimin and Yoongi had broken up a couple of times but always got back together.

Then towards the end of their junior year, Jungkook started to act differently towards Jin.

He would take forever to return his messages and calls. He would act aloof and shady.

Even Jungkook didn't understand what he was feeling. He just suddenly wanted to try new things. And he couldn't do that being tied down to his high school boyfriend.
