I'm sure that it was Diana's turn, but no one says anything against me opening the gifts next.

I open the gift from Harvey, expecting something funny, but I assume it's an inner joke between him and Katherine. He got me a black nike t-shirt and socks, not any better than the present that I got for him. Ethan got me a playstation game, beyond two souls, which I've never played.

"Oh, I played this game!" Katherine exclaims.

"It's cool, isn't it?" Ethan asks, obviously proud of his choice of present for me.

"Very cool." Katherine boasts. "Have you played any decision making games before?" She asks me and I shake my head. "Oh my god! You have to. Will play it together." She says and I smile. This gift just became better.

"Don't spoil the ending." Ethan warns.

"I can't. You know that everyone's ending is different." She says.

The next gift is from Diana. She got me an airpods case and a book, Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey. Never heard of it, but I should read it. With Katherine's acknowledgement of books, I should read more.

Anthony and Linda got me a blue tie and a nice silver watch. This trip was mostly about me getting to know her family and I'm so fucking happy that they like me. Linda actually told me that she's grateful that I'm with Katherine. She also said that she never saw her happier.

"I heard her laugh today, a real laugh, for the first time in three years." Linda told me, while everyone was in the backyard.

She has no idea how Katherine changed my life and if someone should be grateful then it's me and my parents.

The last present is Katherine's and it's a big but a thin package. I look at her while opening the gift that she wrapped perfectly and she's eagerly waiting for my reaction. I open up and see that it's a vinyl of the album 'Beautiful and Damned' by G-eazy. This is the most thoughtful gift I've ever received. I know the reason why she chose this exact album and not any other G-eazy album. It's because our song, 'Him & I' is part of this album. I don't have a record player though...

"I also got you a record player." She says, answering my thoughts. "It's at home."

"This is the best gift." I tell her and she gives me a big smile. "I love you." This time I kiss her and she giggles.

"Katherine..." Diana gasps, when she opens her gift and covers it quickly. "Give me a hint before I open the gift." Diana says, her cheeks are a deep shade of red.

"Oh come on... Since when are you embarrassed by candles." Katherine says and winks at her.

After everyone opens their gifts, we take a seat at the dining table. Katherine's mom made frittata and baked french toast with berries. She piles up Katherine's plate way too much, but she doesn't say anything. I have a feeling that they're all trying to feed Katherine. To my surprise she clears her plate and even steals a couple of bites from mine. Her parents look pleased at the sight of us being together and it feels crazy that both of our parents are okay with our relationship.

Katherine and I walk into the backyard after breakfast while everyone else is talking about extended family coming for dinner.

"This is the best trip ever." I say when we walk to the edge of the property to look at the ocean.

"Really?" She asks, raising a brow.

"Yeap." I wrap my arms around her as we stand and look at the view. "I went to a lot of places but I never had you by my side."
