Eclipse POV
We all looked over shocked. Oh no.
"Harmony what are you doing awake?!" Solar whisper shouts.
*I couldn't sleep. And then you guys were talking about an escape plan!* She smiles proud.
I look to Siege. Even if Harmony could hack in, which I don't see how, that would mean we'd have to take her. And she's 14! My trin leader looks to Wavelength and Solar. This was their plan after all.
"Iiiiii" Solar drags out.
*Plus, you guys all helped me, so now I'm your responsibility. And you're my only friends. And I'm deaf and blind. And 14.* She points out.
She, she was guilt tripping us.
"Tonight!" Wavelenght blurts. "We can't wait any longer! The more we do, the more complications there will be!"
"A simulation?" Flare asked.
"Nope. 83." Wavelength corrects. "None of which have a complete set of data to properly run. And I've been trying for two hours."
"So what you're saying is?" I gently push.
"We, everyone is running out of time. We have a ship. I know your uncle and sire would never help us, or even let us do this but can't we try!"
"He has a point..." Solar begs.
*Please?* Harmony gently pulls on Solars armor. *Carrier wouldn't want me to be alone alone...*
Siege stands up.
"We have one hour till lights out. Sire and Uncle Thundercracker are sound asleep about thirty minutes later."
"Sire is a heavy sleeper. Uncle Thundercracker's dropped him off our roof trying to wake him up and that didn't work. Himself however, very light sleeper. Not a sound is to be made. Communication will be made only via com links." Siege instructs.
We nod in sync. We were doing this. We were actually doing this. My spark started racing as the six of us snuck into mine and my brothers room. Whispering about what to bring. Should we risk sneaking into Solar and Wavelengths houses? Solar refused to reenter his. He already had his school bag with him. What more was he going to want? Wavelength insisted he needed something. Siege looked over his old journals. He wrote down every morning flight, training hours, and instructional weeks with Uncle Thundercracker, plus anything else along those lines. While he shoved them in his own bag, I hesitated to grab my own. I've spent hundreds of summers finding outback places to camp and survive, keeping a detailed log about everyday. What if we needed them? What if we didn't? I'd be leaving a part of me behind... Wavelength placed a gentle servo on my shoulder.
"Take them! We'll something as a guide." He offers with a smile.
"Thank you." I pack every datapad I've made.
"What do you three have?" Solar whispers.
"I hav my journals, a few knives, star charts, regional weather charts, rations-"
"You keep rations in your rooms?" Solar snorts amused.
"Yes! I like a midnight snack!" Siege huffs.
Flare giggles, "I have my camera, darts, Siege's rations and that book Wavelength got from the library. It's not like we can return anymore, even if we or they didn't need it."
"I have a small first aid kit, my own journals, emergency compass and fire starter." I close my bag.
"A good start." Solar nods, "That's all we need for now. An hour has passed by now. Right?"
"Lights out you five! Don't worry about setting alarms tomorrow." Sire calls down the hallway.
Everyone gives a chorus of good nights. Now for the tensest half hour of my life... We all waited there, sitting still as possible in complete silence. Siege was getting antsy, trying not to pace, shake or jump at any sound. He was terrified at what we were about to do. Wavelength and I lock optics. He was a little tricky to read with his visor, but in the black room, that was our only light.
"30 minutes." Flare whispers, like he's nervous saying that will suddenly cause alarms to go off.
We all nod.
:Is everyone ready?: Siege types in the group chat.
We all nod and follow him out of the room. Pausing here and there, being all too paranoid as we make our way to the hanger. The door opens with a small whoosh of air, but no sound.
:Let's please be quick about this.: Siege motions us inside and immediately starts on the passwords. Flare and I lead everyone to the control room.
:Time to work your magic.: I commed Harmony.
She nods as Wavelength moves to help her. Teleporting out of the ship and back into the hanger I look back at Siege. He looked frozen. No. No please no.
:Is he awake?: I message privately.
:I don't know. I heard movement, but I can't tell who it was.:
:Should we continue?:
Siege looks down trying to think.
:There was a firewall! A few! It's all down!!: Wavelength texts the group chat.
:Well now we have no choice.: Siege messages me. :And yeah, I do think Uncle Thundercracker is awake...:
"Get in the control room! I'll join you in a moment!" I drop any notion of stealth.
Our uncle must have had a silent alarm. Why didn't we consider that?!
"And what are you doing?!" Siege calls as Flare powers up the engines.
I don't respond over the deafening noise. Both of them have to be awake at this point. I rush to the control panel and type in the opening sequence. Siege must have made it inside because Uncle Thundercracker's ship started rising into the air. The hanger doors flew open as both Sire and Uncle Thundercracker ran in. They looked at the ship and the roaring engine shocked and confused. The warning lights that the main hatch was opening started flashing, the loud buzzing sound was just as loud as the ship. The two looked over to me and everything made sense to them. The hatch was half open as Uncle Thundercracker's ship started moving causing me to fall forward. The heavy wind was making it impossible to stand straight. Sire tried screaming something, but I shook my helm. We couldn't stop now. The buzzing went from a pattern to an unbroken sound. The hatch was open and the ship was moving out into open air.
:What are you doing?! All of you will get killed?!: Sire messages me.
The deafening engines were parallel to my helm as I stood beside the ship.
:I'm sorry. But we have to this. I-. It just feels right.:
I teleport out of his sight, quite possibly for the last time.
