Me becoming the NXT womens champion put a huge target on my back, I was one of the first people to get the championship after such a short time of my career. It had intimidated some people, others just wanted to see me crash and burn. I had already been challenged by aliyah and baszler to which I ignored the both of them, I wanted to fight someone new, a new challenge. So when Candice challenged me and rhea to a triple threat match, I couldn't refuse, neither could rhea.

I was now sat in my living room, fresh out of the shower, my mother, Oliver Marcy, Monica and demi present in my apartment living room, talking about my job. "I just don't understand it Emily-" my mother was cut off by Oliver "Not their name mom" my mom glared at me and sighed "I don't understand it Sydney. How could you possibly like getting beat up for a living?" I laughed a little and caught a glimpse of demi smiling "mom it's not just about the fighting. It's about the titles and the fans and the support. Marcy be careful honey" I placed my hand on the title belt that Marcy was playing with making sure she wasn't going to hurt herself. Mom was never fond of wrestling and she made it very clear that she didn't like me working in the industry, she never really cared about my feelings though so it didn't really bother me.

We continued to talk about my job until oli changed the subject. "So I've noticed the Aussie, is she a new housemate?" Oli asked me and I noticed demi hiding her smile behind her hand. "Something like that, yeah" my brother sat in confusion until it clicked, we hadn't told my mom about our relationship yet because it'd start unnecessary drama.  "Dem can you just go check on Marcy's food please" I said to her so she could get away from the awkward atmosphere from being around my mom. "So you're with a woman now."  My mom said, I felt my stomach turn and I looked down at my hands. "Emily you know how I feel about that shit. You're never going to last with her, it's fucking stupid!" She always degraded me when I was with a woman, when dad was alive he'd stop her from doing it but now there was no one that would stop her and it made me feel like shit. She continuedto slander my relationship to the point where I was shaking with anger, I didn't want to cause any arguments especially around Marcy so I stood up and walked out, slamming the door behind me. I could faintly hear my brother shout for me as I left but I ignored him completely.

Demi pov:

I heard the front door slam shut and when I went to check what was going on Sydney was nowhere to be seen. "Nice one mom" Oliver said and I immediately knew then that an argument of some sort had occurred while I was gone. "Marcy's food is on the side, I'm gonna find syd-" I said and left the apartment, I knew where they would go. I ran up to the roof and saw Sydney hunched over on the edge of the roof. I startled her a little when I placed my hand on her arm, she immediately hid her face from me, she was crying.

Sydney pov:

I turned my face away from demi in attempt to hide the fact that I had been crying, but there was no point, she pulled my face back towards her and wiped my eyes. Demi pulled me into her arms and kissed my forehead, that was her own personal way of asking if I was alright, I just nodded into her chest and explained what happened.

I went back inside after calming down and everyone made sure I was alright, everyone except my mother. "Emily. You shouldn't have stormed out like that, I don't know if you've noticed but you're a grown adult now, you can't just run from your problems" my mother's word rung through my ears and it slowly made me despise the sound of her voice. I couldn't leave again, it wouldn't be fair, but I also couldn't listen to her anymore and judging by the look on demi's face, neither could she. "Look, Jane, I understand that as Sydney's mother, you want to protect them. But she is in good hands with me and your input is no longer needed." Demi flashed a fake smile at my mother and my and Oliver tried out hardest not to laugh. Monica was laughing under her breath and Marcy had no idea what was going on. "Listen sweetheart I advise that you keep your mouth quiet if you ever want to see my daughter again-" demi cut her off and steeped closer to her "Jane like you said your daughter is a grown adult, which means that you have little to no power over who she's in a relationship with. No power over who they live with and certainly no power over who they want to fuck and I'd advise you leave this place before I drag you out by your hair, don't think I won't, because I most definitely will" my mom stood up and inched closer to demi, before she could say or do anything i stepped in the way. "Just go, you've done enough" my mom looked at me, rolled her eyes at demi and left the apartment.

"Well that was fun" Monica chimed in, breaking the silence between everyone. I turned to Marcy and began to play with her, taking my mind off the situation. Monica and Oli got to know demi for a while but once Marcy began to get sleepy they headed home. I'm pretty sure today's events wore demi out quite a bit, they did to me, but it was all over now, I knew that my mom would eventually call and lecture me but for now I wanted to focus on demi. She was sat down on the sofa and it was clear to me that she was really tense, I sat down on the headboard of the sofa, behind where she was sat, she looked confused but didn't tell me to move. I began to rub her shoulders and felt all the knots in her back and shoulders, she sort of melted into my touch, small, quiet moans escaping her lips. If there was one way to turn me on it was this. My breath hitched and she noticed it straight away, she laughed a little and slowly arched her back so my hands trailed to her chest...
