I had been attempting IVF treatments for a few weeks now, my arm was fully healed now, but I was still unfit to fight because of the treatments. Today was the day I was going back to the treatment centre to see if the successful embryo was strong enough to continue through to full term. We were trying to get at least 2 fertilised embryo's but only one has survived out of the nine that were placed in me. It sucked but we were still content that one was successful. "you ready?" Demi asked, zipping up her bag and giving me a hug. "No, but we still gotta go" I chuckled. She kissed my forehead for reassurance and took hold of my hand so we could walk to the car together. Once we arrived at the medical centre, Demi got out of the car and opened my door, leaning against the top of the door, she could see I was nervous because my hands were shaking uncontrollably. "Hey, come here" She helped me out of the car and brought me into a tight hug "calm down, everything is gonna be okay" "What if it's not" she pulled my chin up to face her "it will, I promise. And if it isn't then we'll figure it out and try again, okay" I nodded and she kissed my forehead before leading me inside. I went up to the receptionist while Demi found us some seats, "Hi, yes, Sydney Davidson, I have an appointment for ten thirty" "yep, I see your name, take a seat and a doctor will be with you shortly" I nodded and sat down next to Demi while we waited for the gynaecologist to call me in. It took about ten minutes for a nurse to call me into a scan room. Demi came with me and sat down on the spare chair while I was told to lay down on the table. Not long after my gynaecologist walked in and started to apply some gel for my ultrasound. "Okay, so you're here for your ten week check up, is that right?" "uhm yeah" "Okay perfect, I know this is cold but it's necessary" I nodded and allowed June, my doctor, to begin the scan.
After a moment, her face changed into a frown, but it wasn't a concerned frown, more of a confused one. I looked over at Demi who had caught onto the doctors look "Is something wrong" she eventually said "Uhhh, no.. Deena, could you come here a moment" The nurse stood up and the doctor pointed at the screen "oh!" Deena said, quite shocked. They both started to laugh "what's going on?" I questioned, looking back and fourth at both the women staring at the screen. "R-remember how you were both really wanted two healthy embryo's" "yeah?" I raised my eyebrow at them in confusion "well, you got your wish." Deena said, turning the screen to face us, she pointed at two distinct points, where two embryo's lay. "I thought only one had survived, it must've been hiding behind the first embryo, but it appears that baby A has moved and it showed Baby B" June added. I looked over and saw the gleam of happiness shine through her eyes as a single tear of happiness fell down her cheek. "awww Dem, don't cry" "I told you everything was going to be fine" she laughed and kissed me. "other than surprise baby 2, they both seem perfectly healthy, they're growing correctly, they should carry to full term, just one thing, you need to start eating more calories, you're eating for three at this point, I know how much you have struggled in the past, but you have to try" I nodded and she wiped the remaining gel off of my stomach.
21st September 2020
It had been a few days since finding out we were having twins, and we had spent the last few days moving our things into a new place, A house, so that we had plenty of space for our office and for a nursery. We had been looking into this place for a while and realised that I wasn't going to be much help in a few weeks because I would begin showing a lot sooner with twins. I also was going to work tonight, but not to fight, to announce my pregnancy, We were on our way to the arena and I was so nervous. The plan was I was going to interrupt Asuka in her celebration segment and announce my big news.
I wore clothing to hide my stomach that was growing fast but even in September it was still quite warm.
I waited patiently for a pause in Asuka's segment for my intro to cue. I made my way to the ring and the moment I stepped in she was ready to attack "WAIT WAIT WAIT!" I shouted into the mic to stop her from hitting me. "I'm not here to fight, not yet at least. As you can see, my arm is perfectly fine now, but I'm still unfit to fight" Asuka gave me a confused glance and I took a deep breath. "I'm glad that you're champion, I really am. Because I know that you can and will defend it with your life. So, you gotta promise me that you're still going to be champion after I return, so I can take it back. And I can see that you're confused as to why I didn't get in this ring and challenge you straight away, It's because I can't, you have to fill in as champion for me, so that I can become a mom" I smiled at Asuka as she pulled me into a hug and congratulated me and the crowd erupted with applause. "I have to go and prepare myself to be a mother of twins now" this earned another cheer from the crowd and more excitement from Asuka "so, champ, hold on tight, because I want to fight for it back when I return, okay?" she nodded and hugged me again before lifting my arm up, out of respect before dropping it so I could leave.
I returned to the backstage area and was immediately swarmed with applause, congratulations and hugs, Demi receiving the same thing. We thanked everyone before heading back to the apartment to pack up the rest of our stuff, but I was exhausted, so Demi told me to try and sleep in the car while she did all the work. I felt bad, not being ablr to do anything but it was for the better.
