My mom had stayed quiet for a while now, she didn't cause any drama in public, but I had a feeling something would happen today. I really was not in the mood to deal with her and morning sickness but she insisted on coming over to "talk things out" with me and Demi about my pregnancy. I didn't fully trust her and since Ami was painting my nursery upstairs, I texted her "If you hear, me, mom, or Demi shouting come over and help me kick mom out." she replied with "Okay" right before my mom knocked on the front door. I still felt sick because it was still quite early in the morning. "figured you'd want to talk after a while" I said as my mom sat down on the couch, she scoffed and rolled her eyes at me. "Of course I wanted to talk, you know I only want what's best for you, and my grandbabies" she said with a smile. "it's funny, you always smile before things go off the deep end with you" Demi said to her, taking a seat next to me and holding my hand.
My mom scowled at this action "Mom" I said to which she smiled at me "Yes, dear?" "why are you here, the truth, not some bullshit" "Woow, what's gotten you in a mood all of a sudden?" she said with that same, fake smile on her face. "I'm just not in the mood mom" she sighed "Okay. Well, I wanted to just talk about the whole parenting situation her. Now, before you say anything because I already know you're planning to kick me out if any of us start shouting so let's keep this low volume" I rolled my eyes and Demi said "well then Jane, talk" "I really just think that a father figure should be present for those children, you should contact the donor" I sighed in defeat at her "mom we already told you, the donor doesn't want to be contacted. And no, these babies don't need a father figure, it's quite insulting that you don't believe we can do this by ourselves, because, we can, if we weren't ready I wouldn't have gone through with the treatments. If you're just going to keep berating us about this then leave, and don't call, text or attempt to reach either of us until you learn to grow the fuck up." I was quite stern with her, and it was obvious she was taken aback by me talking to her this way. "And why exactly do you think you can talk to your mother this way, emily-" "HER NAME IS SYDNEY, GET THAT INTO YOUR HEAD AND LEAVE US ALONE! Don't you see?! They have given you every opportunity to change and you don't! Syd's tired of it and frankly so am I! You're not going to change, it doesn't matter what you say, it's all bullshit, you just don't want to lose the love of your kids, but you don't seem to get it. do you?" "Get what, demi?" "You already have. Ami secretly hates your guts for what you made her become, a runaway, an addict, a junkie. That was all you. And, Oliver got a girl pregnant at sixteen because he was pissed off at you, and yes, he is happy with the mother of his child, but he wanted things in life, and he changed his mind to be a good parent, because you weren't. " "Demi-" I tried to interrupt. I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty awesome watching her stand up for me, and my siblings. "And Sydney, spent so many years chasing your love and finding nothing in return, arguably she was the worse off child out of your three because she had been so badly discouraged and beaten down, by your words that she was convinced that no one loved her! You know what they said to me the first time I said I loved her? Do you mean it, really mean it. That was you, all you!" at this point my mom was on the brink of tears, Ami had come downstairs and was escorting my mom out of the hose. "You want those kids to grow up without a grandmother that lives near to them, go ahead, I'll be sure to make no effort!" was all she said as my sister pushed her out of the house.
Once Ami shut the door and turned around, I looked at her, she at me, and we both burst into laughter "Go Demi!" My sister shouted, Demi joining in with the laughter "I just said it as it is Besides I was tired of looking at her face for longer than I needed to" once again we burst into laughter and Demi pulled me closer to her "You two are gonna be great parents, don't let mom make you think otherwise" she smiled tapping my leg and heading back upstairs. When I checked my phone my mom had blocked my number, I didn't know for how long and I really didn't care. I was finally free from her constant insults and arguments.
finally.
