my mouth dropped to the floor, i couldn't believe it. "Demi, you don't actually think you'd be a good mum, did you? I mean, you're so violent." Ami's words lingered around the room for a solid minute before Demi broke the silence. "You know what, Ami-" I step in front of her, placing my hands on her shoulders "No- Dem, leave it alone, just breathe, cmon. Please, for me." Demi was seething, and for good reason, she looked down at me, I could see the burning rage in her eyes, but they softened when she looked at me "Fine. but I'm not taking her home. call someone else" her tone was stern, and she looked at Ami once more before walking upstairs. I turn to Ami, who has a drink in her hand, I swat the cup out of her hand and she frowns at me "What the hell was that for?!"
"What the fuck is wrong with you?! How could you say that to Demi" I frown at her, waiting for her answer.
"I was just making a point" she scowls at me, obviously not seeing how much she upset my fiancé. "A fucked up point, how could you?! I thought you were better than this, you can be just like mom sometimes, and frankly pissing me off." I say through gritted teeth as I pull my phone out and call an uber. "you're lucky I'm not making you walk home..."
I leave Ami in the living room and walk upstairs to find Demi hunched over on the edge of our bed in our room, she's visibly upset and I can't help but feel awful for her. I climb onto the bed behind her and start rubbing her shoulders, but she pulls away from me. "go away..." she mutters, looking down at her hands. "dem-" "does she really think I'll be a bad mother?" I can hear her voice cracking as she chokes back tears and it breaks my heart. "She's drunk, besides, who cares what she thinks, I know you'll be a great mom, and ask anyone, they'll all say the same thing. Just look at how many of our friends in the industry already have kids and are amazing parents... what makes you think you'll be any different?" she sighs and leans back into my touch with a sigh, closing her eyes "I suppose you're right. I don't know why I let her get to me" I shake my head and kiss the top of hers. "it's not your fault... that comment would hurt anyone's feelings."
we can hear Ami stumble through the front door and out to the Uber and I just shake my head. "I'll stop her from coming here anymore, if that's what you want." I ay, my voice barely above a whisper, I can feel her nod against me and I stroke her hair "okay, I'll talk to her when she's sober" I sigh and my hand trails down her arm, she turns around and rests her head against my stomach, listening to the movement of our children, I watch as her lips curl into a smile and I smile back at her. I lie down and she follows me stroking my arm as her eyes flutter shut and she slips into slumber...
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I GOT A NEW LAPTOP THAT DOESN'T LOAD AT TWO PIXELS PER HOUR SO HOPEFULLY, ONCE I GET THIS COLLEGE ASSESSMENT DONE I WILL HAVE MORE TIME TO WRITE MORE CHAPTERS! I promised a shoutout to an amazingly talented new writer @RoyalRoze33 when I got a chapter out, so here it is, I highly recommend giving their story a bit of a read but bare in mind that they are pretty new to the writing community and that they have been nervous to write anything due to the fear of backlash that they may receive, but what they have written is amazing and I really hope you'll check their page out!
