15TH APRIL 2020

Demi was really disappointed in herself. And it showed. She had been avoiding work, and snapping at me a lot, and I had been training alone, her confidence had been thrown away after wrestlemania and I felt awful that I couldn't do anything to help her. She was really upset and wasn't doing anything and it was heartbreaking to see. I had still been trying to get her up but nothing was working, she just stayed in bed all day. I would give her meals but she only picked at them.

I had to do something, I didn't want to lose her.

My footsteps were light as I creeped into our bedroom and ripped the curtains open, causing her to sheild her eyes with the bed sheets. I sat down on the edge of her side of the bed at first but then shifted to a kneeling position next to her head. "Go away..." She mumbled through the fabric that covered her head to toe. "No. You're worrying me." I said, attempting and failing to pull the sheets down past her face. "I'm fine" she grumbled, still not moving from the hidden position she was in. "Okay. If you're fine, you'll get out of bed." I said standing up but she didn't even respond with words, she just shook her head. "Look, you clearly need a distraction, I was thinking of packing the car up and going to the beach for the day, maybe having a few drinks and then staying in a nearby hotel for the night and coming home tomorrow. If you don't wanna go that's fine, I'll find someone else to go with me, I'm sure Gia wouldn't mind coming"

I paused for a moment, to see if she would answer. Nothing. It was clear that she wanted to be alone, so I began to walk over to the bedroom door. "Wait." Her voice sounded clearer now, when I turned around I saw her sitting up and rubbing her eyes. "Just to be clear I'm only going for the drinks" she spoke in a low grumble but it was loud enough for me to hear her so it didn't matter. I squealed and jumped around for a moment, unable to contain my excitement which seemed to make her crack a smile for me. We got changed and then I fed the dog while Demi put a few things in a car.

I don't know why I thought the beach would cheer her up, but I couldn't sit around and do nothing. The drive there was silent, and when we got there Demi left me to lay out towels while she went to a bar that was on the shore. I was half expecting her to come back with just one drink, for herself, but she didn't, she had brought me a tequila sunrise and for herself a Raspberry mojito. All I want is to see her smile, a genuine smile, not one she puts on to make everyone believe she's okay.

"Dem. I know you're upset about your loss but can you at least try to look happy, I know you have what it takes to become champion again, but you're going to have to at least try to work your way back up" I said, laying down next to her. "Yeah... Or I could sit here, on the beach, with you, and I could do this..." She kissed my lips "and this" her kisses moved to my neck "and this..." Finally her kisses landed on my chest, causing my skin to rise with goosebumps. "We're in public.." I whispered trying to stop her but still melting under her touch. "Yeah but you like it" She smiled, pulling away from me. She finally began to talk to me after days of silence and it was nice. Was it because she was drinking? Probably. But it didn't matter, this is the longest conversation I've had with her since wrestlemania.

She was a lot more clingy now as well, and you could tell that the alcohol was getting to her. The more she drank the more relaxed she became. And I liked it. She looked happy for a while, but then she crashed. Barely able to stand and it hit me that maybe this wasn't a good idea. I had no chance of carrying her to the hotel, so I had to call an Uber. It arrived pretty quickly But she had pretty much passed out at this point so I had no choice but to carry her to the car. Once we got to the hotel I carried her to the room we were staying in. It was nice and cozy but I couldn't really take it in with demi literally collapsing by my side. "Demi! Come on the bed is literally less than a foot away" I yelled, hoisting her back up. She just barely made it to the bed before passing out and I had to call room service for a bucket, just in case she got sick.

"Hey, look if you're gonna be sick, try to get to the bathroom, if not the bucket's right here, and I'll leave a glass of water for you here" I whispered kissing her forehead and standing up; as I went to turn around towards the bathroom her hand ...

"Hey, look if you're gonna be sick, try to get to the bathroom, if not the bucket's right here, and I'll leave a glass of water for you here" I whispered kissing her forehead and standing up; as I went to turn around towards the bathroom her hand gripped my wrist and she forbid me to leave. "I'm going to the bathroom dem" I said turning back to her, her eyes were still closed but she managed to mumble a few words. "I'm sorry. I love you." It was all I needed for that slight bit of affirmation, I knew it was difficult for her, losing everything she had. And maybe alcohol wasn't the best for her situation. But she seemed happier like this, and she'd only able to get better from this point forward. I climbed into the bed next to her and pulled my arm around her waist, she had already passed out completely and although I turned most of the lights off I made sure to keep one on for her so she could see if needs be.

I didn't exactly know what she was going to be like tomorrow, all I knew is that it would be chaos....
