Ever since Backlash me and Asuka had engaged in brawl after brawl after brawl, and it was all because she believed she was a better fit champion than I was. I was trying not to push myself too much with her; during the brawls I was getting pretty badly beaten, especially around my chest and right shoulder. My right arm in particular had been through agony ever since Asuka trapped it in a storage box and slammed the top shut on it, it was extremely painful but I had been pushing through till tonight, because I had finally given her a title opportunity. I knew what I was in for, and I knew that I wasn't fighting tonight at 100% tonight but I had to try my hardest to win. I also knew that Demi wasn't happy about me fighting in my condition but I assured her that I would be careful, and avoid injuring my arm further than I already had.
updated hair colour and cut:
I tied my hair back in a half-up half-down pigtail look, something easy that would keep my hair out of my face but didn't take forever to do so I could focus on stretching and warming myself up before my match. While stretching I made sure to focus on my right arm to make sure I was getting used to moving it in ways that wouldn't hurt so much so I was familiar with what I could and couldn't do to it in the match.
It didn't take long for me to see Asuka waiting right behind the curtain just as her music cued and before I knew it, mine was playing and I was being ushered out onto the ramp. I made my entrance as I usually did, posing with my championship and handing it over to the ref when I was ready for the match to begin. The bell rang and before I could even blink she was hitting and kicking and attacking my arm and I didn't have a chance to fight back. Within a minute I was being pinned by her and already struggling to kick out. This was going to be difficult, and if I could just break free from her I might have a chance to win this match, but she was moving so fast I couldn't keep up. In the moment it took for me to kick out of her pin and take a single breath she had figured out how to grab my arm, the injured one and set up an arm bar. Luckily for me she didn't think of our position against the turnbuckle and I was able to pull myself under the ropes and out to safety. I fell off the apron and crumbled to the ground, grasping my arm. When I didn't move from the ground for a while she knew I would win by default with a count-out but the second she stepped out of the ring I jumped up and dodged her attempt at another attack on my arm. Her foot slammed into the steel steps and I jumped onto her back. She began to swing and spin around in attempt to throw me off her, but to no avail. She began to panic the moment my arm wrapped around her neck, knowing that if I stayed long enough, she would lose. She took one last look around before running backwards into the ringpost, forcing me to let go as my back met the light-up post.
I hit the floor and she didn't hesitate to take advantage, throwing me back into the centre of the ring and placing me into the asuka lock. After writhing around trying to break her hold I realised that I wasn't breaking this hold on my own, so I began to drag myself, with Asuka on my back over to the ropes, eventually getting close enough to the ropes by my fingertips to force a rope break. But that didn't stop her, she knew the damage had been done, and I was in a vulnerable position for her to attack my already injured arm. I was crawling over to the turnbuckle and the second my right hand gripped onto the turnbuckle, she slammed her foot down onto my forearm. A huge, agonizing scream left my throat and I felt a tear run down my cheek. I made the referee create some separation from us both, and she was forced to keep her distance as he put on the black gloves and shouted for medical to check me over.
within seconds there was multiple voices overtaking each other but I only listened to one "we can keep this match going, but one more hit and you're going to have to pull the match" one of the officials said, but I only took into consideration the first few words of this sentence and jumped back into action, only this time I was on offence and caught her off-guard with a hard hitting slap across the side of her face. I dropped her to her knees with a step up enzuigiri, then I rolled her up into a pin after hitting her with a running knee. She reversed my pin and once again the second I kicked, she grabbed hold of my arm and pulled me over t the steel steps; trapping the injured arm in between the steel and the ringpost. Without thinking twice, she ran at it and slammed her foot into the steel steps, which forced the steps to shift and twist my arm into an agonizing position, and it took 3 officials to pull my arm free. A medic once again checked over y arm and determined me unfit to continue fighting. This was it. I lost. And it wasn't even my choice. My fate was sealed as Samantha Irvin pulled a mic up to her mouth and said into it "The official has Deemed Phoenix medically unfit to fight as a result of an injury, Which means by default, Your winner, and the new RAW women's champion, ASUKA!" asuka's theme played on the speakers as my title was handed off to her and I was pulled back stage. In a way, the curse of this injury could be considered a blessing, because now, me and Demi could focus on IVF. But it still sucked.
A/N I GOT MY LAPTOP BACK FINALLY, BUT I AM TAKING THINGS SLOW, CHAPTERS, UPDATES, EVERYTHING, I ALSO AM NOT CONFINING MYSELF TO THE 1000 WORD MINIMUM RULE THAT I PUT IN PLACE FOR MY STORIES, AS I FEEL THAT THIS CAUSES ME TO REPEAT A LOT OF THE SENTENCES THAT I WRITE TO MEET THIS WORD MARK.
