I hate to say it... but the medication I had been given was working, which meant I was like her.... Ami. But my swings hadn't been half as bad, I was my old self again, and I was having a championship match against Io tonight to make up for the one I had cancelled previously, now it would be broadcasted but only on WWE Exclusive screening websites. I had began to see a change in demi as well, she was a lot more persistent to make sure I was okay now, and even when I told her I was okay she was still on edge. We had to go any get a proper prescription for me next week but for now I was on what was left of the tester meds.

There were a few times where I wanted to throw away the orange pill bottle that had been given to me but demi made sure that any attempt was shut down, as well as making sure that I took my meds at the required times. I was on my way to the NXT performance center, me driving, demi in passenger side, her hand on my leg as I drove. I had my gear in my bag in the back seat, the shoes I had packed taking up most of the space in my bag. It was quite annoying but worth it.

When I arrived I went to the locker room, seeing a few other women there and my competition For tonight, she was looking me up and down, trying to intimidate me, I paid no mind to her attempts, knowing that it would get under her skin.i got changed quickly to get out of the locker room and away from the rising tension due to the silence, I headed to hair and makeup two stylists immediately setting me down in the director-style chairs. They examined my gear before starting to work on my look, finding a vibe for my look. My hair was pinned back in a half-up half-down set of pigtails and my makeup tied in with my gear as best as they could get it, and hell they got it good.

I thanked them for another great look and waited for my cue in the gorilla, talking to demi while I waited

I thanked them for another great look and waited for my cue in the gorilla, talking to demi while I waited. "You don't let it control you, alright" "yeah, I know." "I mean it Syd, don't let it consume you." "I. Know. Demi." I said glaring at her, it wasn't that she cared about my too much, it was literally the fact that that's all she had been saying for the past five minutes- "serenity we're ready for you" I took one last look at demi before heading out. "This match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing the challenger, from Tokyo Japan, Io Shirai!" There was a cheer that rippled through the crowd, like a Mexican Wave as Io was introduced "And her opponent! She is the NXT women's champion, SERENITY!" I held my title into the air, listening to the crowds reaction, it was similar to Shirai's reaction. I shook myself down, cracking my neck and knuckles as the NXT title belt was held into the air.

The moment the bell rung we were on the attack, switching from who held who until I was able to throw her back, German suplex off the bat would take her off guard. I leaped into action once again getting her into the viper lock, the more she wore herself out, and she knew it, so instead of trying too much she paced herself out of the lock, eventually getting free from my grip. We both stood up and I, unfortunately lost all bets of winning after she caught my kick, driving my right knee into the turnbuckle after climbing out onto the apron. She was quick to stay on attack, springing herself onto my knee once again, pain coursing through my entire leg in waves. She was forced to step back as the ref knew he had to make sure I was still fit to fight, I was in pain, a lot of it, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from retaining, I could fight with an injury, I had proved that before.

It took me a minute but I was eventually back on two feet, Shirai ready to attack me again but I knew that if my leg was a target, she'd go for it. And I was right, her Next move was a kick to my leg, I caught her ankle and listed it up over my shoulder, throwing her literally head over heels onto the canvas before covering her, only to have her kick out at two, my heart began pounding as a mass of frustration overtaking my every thought. I began shaking, desperately wanting to rip into Io, feeling my temper wearing thin, I knew demi would scold me for getting back into the ring too early, but when someone is just pushing and pushing and pushing it becomes only a matter of time before you....

Snap.

I broke away from the cloud in my mind to find my leg trapped between the steel steps and the ring post, she had wedged my leg so deep into the slot I wasn't getting out unless someone helped me, or the steps were knocked in one direction.

A bloodcurdling scream escaped my mouth as my leg was slammed into the ring post from the steel steps, taking my knee out almost completely, I fell off the apron clutching at my knee, writhing in pain, tears rolling down my face, the referee running over to aid me in getting back into the match. "What you saying serenity. Am I calling it?" I was honestly considering it, but the fact that It was acting smug, as if she knew I was going to call it just drove me insane. "No. I can go-" "I don't recommend it-" "I can go! I can go!" I stood back up and tried not to place too much pressure on my leg as the ref held Shirai back, allowing me to hop into the ring. The moment Io was let loose I sprung back, wanting to get the match done with. I held onto her by the base of her jaw, pulling her so she arched her back. I could've gone for a sister Abigail, but that would've cost me as well. I dropped to the canvas, slamming the back of her head onto the canvas and covering her. I quickly realised after her kick out that I was going to have to put my leg at risk of worse injury, if I wanted to win.

Figure of 4, it hurt like hell, but I knew it was the only way to get the win secured. My plan began to fail the figure wasn't working, she was reversing it, I had to be quick, unless..

Fuck it, I bridged myself, causing more pain in my leg, but her struggling wasn't budging my hold, so she tapped. My tears brimmed my eyes as my title was handed back to me and I struggled to stand, at this point demi was making her way down to me, helping me backstage and taking me to the infirmary.

No breaks, just a dislocation and a brace to ease the pain. I didn't have to cancel my match against Baszler, and demi made sure to protect me as I left the centre driving me home herself to make sure I was home safe, it honestly turned me on quite a bit...
