Chapter 46: Which Army To Join?

PART 1: ADVICE

Aarav and Annie sat down after their training. They were panting and wiping all the sweat on them with towels. The gleaming light of the sun on the top of the skyscraper was very hot. It had been about one year since their graduation from the Elemental Academy. And soon they were going to join one of the Armies.

Both Aarav and Annie had not decided on which Army to join. They had received offers from all the Armies with EAA. However, Aarav had not received letters from Army 6 and Army 8 because he was a human. But he did not care.

Eve had filed a complaint against Army 6 and Army 8. As per the laws of Elemental Lands, any kind of discrimination was a crime. It had been like that for years. Armies were asked by the EAA to hire ignoring the applicant's name, religion, sex, or origins. That was the reason behind the vivid culture. The armies were not told to hire some ratios of the population, there were no reservations.

With a rift in space, Master Ellendun appeared on that rooftop. Aarav and Annie got up immediately and bowed down with a greeting. Master Ellendun gestured to them to relax. Annie sat down on the floor before the gesture was finished.

"What?" Annie asked when Aarav stared at her. "I am too tired!"

Master Ellendun chuckled and said,

"That's alright, dear. I am here to ask for your final decision about which Army you'd join."

"Does it matter?" Annie asked. "We could just choose anyone and be done with it."

Aarav knew that choosing an Army was important. The growth of anyone was going to depend on the opportunities an Army would give them. Only some Armies would have the opportunities they would need to get stronger and defeat Zortus.

"Master," said Aarav, "Do you have something to recommend?"

Master Ellendun's face said it clearly that he was expecting Aarav's question. He chuckled and turned around. He said,

"I have nothing to say which Army you two should join, but if you ask me, I'd suggest you go to the Beach House and discuss."

"Discuss with whom?" asked Aarav.

"You will know when it happens," replied Master Ellendun.

PART 2: ARMY TO JOIN OR ...?

Gavin and Alice were running along the beach that morning. It was a part of their daily basic training assigned by Master Wyngaf. He was their official Master now. Gavin was glad he changed his hatred toward Humans and became a better person. That was the reason Master Wyngaf accepted him and Alice as his student.

Gavin thought he trained hard enough on his own, but when Master Wyngaf gave him the timetable for all the training he had to do every day, he was shocked. Additionally, he and Alice had to come and live at the Beach House which was not as fancy and convenient as their own homes. They could not get good sleep for the first few days and were left tired after the cleaning and all.

They knew Raymond and Katie had arrived at the Beach House last night, but they were asleep now. He had heard from Master Wyngaf that they faced another Zortus member when they were at Human Earth. Gavin was a bit jealous that they got to do some action.

Gavin's main focus for today was to go to Army 4 and submit his joining letter. Alice was joining him too. Gavin was curious which Army Raymond and Katie were going to join. He wanted to be with them and fight beside them. He knew the danger over them was not over.

When they reached the Beach House, Raymond and Katie were awake and ready to start their training. Master Owens had also shown up to start their training at full speed.
