Chapter 79: The Battle In The Cave

PART 1: SAND

Raymond had used his Half Berserk state, his right side was surrounded with orange aura and his left side was normal. He was way stronger and faster than before. Also, Katie was stronger and faster as she was using her Heirloom, Raymond did not know how far Katie could take the Heirloom, but she was using it as the Pendant's lightning bolt sign was glowing light blue.

They were in combat outfits so the movement was easier while fighting. After the last exchange they could feel that Captain Ellie was not dominating the fight anymore. She was busy, but still far too strong to be defeated. Eve was watching from a distance, thinking and sorting things through.

Raymond ran up close to Captain Ellie and released a fire beam, Captain Ellie turned into sand and floated to the side to materialize again. Katie released a lightning bolt, Captain Ellie summoned sand from the ground and used it as a shield. The sand turned brittle on impact and broke as glass.

"SAND WAVES!" Captain Ellie yelled.

From Captain Ellie, toward Raymond and Katie, multiple waves of sand came in with little gaps between them. Katie kept destroying those waves with her lightning while Raymond summoned and intensified the flames in his right hand. Katie cleared Raymond's way to Captain Ellie.

"That will not work," Captain Ellie said.

She turned herself into sand to tank Raymond's attack.

"No escape!" Katie said, slamming a lightning bolt right at Captain Ellie.

Katie's lightning bolt turned Captain Ellie into glass and froze her. Raymond took time and closed in, his fist red hot with flames right at Captain Ellie's frozen face.

"FIRE FIST!" he yelled as he drove into the glass.

The glass shattered and flew back, the fist released shockwaves, strong enough to cause cracks and rubble from the cave to shake up and even fall. When everything settled, they found Captain Ellie still standing on her feet, just a tiny trickle of blood from her mouth. She was furious.

"RAIN OF LIGHTNING!" Katie yelled as she jumped high in the air with a lightning bolt at her feet.

Lightning drops start falling on Captain Ellie. She used a moving sand as an umbrella and kept refreshing it with fresh sand from the ground. Raymond gathered heat on his right feet and dashed up to Captain Ellie and swirled his feat, building up the momentum.

"BLAZING INFERNO!" he yelled.

As Raymond kicked Captain Ellie's head, it dissipated into sand, her entire body was gone. Raymond missed and Captain Ellie came behind him and said,

"Enough playing around!"

She created a huge sand hand and grabbed Raymond, spun him and threw him away into a wall. Captain Ellie, then jumped over that hand towards Katie in the air. Katie saw her coming and charged her hands and feet to attack, but from below her, Captain Ellie punched her away with a huge fist of sand.

Captain Ellie landed on the ground and used all the sand around her to create a huge sand figure with two long and strong hands around her back. She slammed on the ground with those huge hands to create an earthquake and make the cave's walls fall to pieces.

Raymond got up and ran to attack, he dodge the huge right hand grabbing him and jumped over the left hand coming next, he reached close to Captain Ellie and focused all his energy in his right ankle for a Blazing Inferno. He was still in his half Berserk state, he knew it would not last forever, he knew it would soon run out as he had not mastered it yet. He was in a hurry to end the fight.

Captain Ellie used her real hands to create another arm from sand on the ground to grab Raymond by his throat. Katie coming from the side of Captain Ellie was also grabbed by the same way.

"Haha," Captain Ellie laughed, "I guess that's the best you can do. It was good, I even got hurt, but you still cannot win."

Captain Ellie used her two gigantic sand hands to punch Raymond and Katie and smash them into the ground. She picked them up again and threw them in a wall straight to her. They slammed and broke the wall behind them which crumbled and fell on top of them.

"I'll never lose to a couple of humans!" Captain Ellie said with rage in her eyes and her huge sand arms slamming the ground again to summon another earthquake. Rocks kept falling from the top to bury everyone down there for no one to be found.

PART 2: MIND GAMES

After Brendan's Sea Dragon clasped Domino within its mouth, Brendan had landed on his feet safely. It was too much; he took a deep breath while the water swamped the place. After all the water movement settled, Brendan found Domino standing on his feet. Just a few scratches and a little coughing was all he suffered. Domino's right sleeve was torn off. And He was leaning on his scythe.

"That was fun, but you could do better," Domino said with a cough but a nasty smile on his face. "I know you can do better."

Most of the cave was destroyed. The ceiling seemed barely hanging; ready to collapse from the top to bury everyone underneath it. Domino took fighting stance again and said,

"One final round for today."

Brendan ran straight for Domino, and Brendan was pushed back into a wall. He jumped towards Domino to attack.

"You're not using your mind control, you cannot win without your strongest weapon."

"I can win this just fine," said Domino. "But as you want me to, I'll give it a go."

Domino flipped back and stretched his hand and released his energy to grab control of Brendan's mind and body, and to use his own sword to cut his throat. Brendan's only hand moved and held his own sword at his own throat. His hand was shaking, but that was all. Neither the sword, nor the hand moved even a millimetre more. Brendan's hand twisted the sword by a few degrees and a blade of water came at Domino.

Domino had no time to dodge, he used his hands to defend himself. The blade was quick and sharp, it left Domino's hands and shoulder bleeding. Brendan just acted, it was all a trap. Domino's mind control did not work, Brendan's body did not move as per Domino's command. Even Domino was surprised how careful Brendan was in hiding his thoughts.

"Hahahaha!" Brendan laughed, "It won't work, I'm not that weak! Don't insult me."

"It appears you still have strength left," said Domino, "No worries, I'll go around a bit!"

There was silence for a second, then Domino yelled,

"DISTORTION!"

Brendan felt the time had stopped around him. He felt everything was breaking apart, his body in motion was cracking as a framed picture. When he felt normal again, his eyes were dizzy and ears were unable to hear anything. Just the noise in his ears and flashes of light right on his eyes made him lifeless and Domino tossed him around into the walls like a doll.

THUD THUD THUD

There was no way the walls could hold on to the ceiling anymore. Brendan fell on the ground, he was unstable physically and mentally, but even after all, he stood up; stretched his sword forward towards Domino, and said,

"Not done yet."

"Okay, I am willing to torture you a bit more," said Domino.

Domino released his scythe from his control and it fell vertically on the ground, with the TING sound, Domino launched his mind energy right at Brendan.

"It's over," said Domino with an evil grin.
