PART 1: REQUEST
Ten days ago, Eve Largman entered Master Ellendun's office at the time of her appointment. She had a proposal to make, she needed something from Master Ellendun so that she could accomplish one of the goals of Army 11.
"I have only one question," Master Ellendun asked her, "are you absolutely sure about your proposal and know the cost?"
Eve had not said anything yet, but Master Ellendun came directly to the point. She knew he knew the future as he could see some twists and turns in his crystal ball. He took a comb out of thin air and combed his beard.
"I am certain, no matter the cost," said Eve.
Master Ellendun immediately summoned his staff to appear in his hand and started reciting a few spells. Eve watched it and walked slowly near him. She extended her hand. The spells in an unknown language kept echoing in her ears in that office full of bookshelves.
PART 2: TRAPPED
At the Beach House, on the present day, Eve walked to Alice's room and said,
"I — need help."
Eve was in too much pain, Alice immediately got up and said,
"What the heck got you this messed up?"
Alice could look at Eve's fingers, both of her index fingers were broken. Alice summoned her yellow aura and healed Eve as fast as she could. After the healing was done, Alice gave water to Eve and asked,
"What were you doing?"
Eve looked at the notes Alice was reading. Those were the notes Alice was deciphering whenever she was not busy. Those notes contained the locations of the Undead soldiers they needed to find.
"I was working on another goal," Eve said. "We got them. Army 6 just walked into my trap."
PART 3: SLAUGHTER
On a no-moon night, a man jumped out of a window of a house. He had a mask on his face, he came out with a bag full of articles he stole from that house. He waved his hand and the electricity of that house came back.
He was ready to leave his house with a great loot, but he crashed into someone. Someone hard as a mountain who did not even budge on the hit. That man looked up to find a muscular man short in height in a dark blue cloak. A thick claymore attached to his waist.
"What are you doing here? There is no costume party here!" said the thief.
Dark Masters had very few missions outside their nation. One such much was given to Dark Master Brendan and he was sent to Human Earth. He had to gather information about a few humans who were suspected to have Elemental Powers.
"Your kind makes me sick," said Brendan. "Even when blessed with powers, you chose to steal and hurt. I shall send you to hell to rot there forever."
Dark Master Brendan took out his thick sword and raised it. The thief understood what was happening. He got up and ran,
"Please, don't — "
The thief could not finish, Dark Master Brendan had slashed his sword through that man to cut him in two. Everything happened very quickly. Dark Master Brendan sighed in disgust. He had one more place to visit. He dived out of there leaving splashes of water around him.
At a crazy party going on in the basement of an old building, Dark Master Brendan found himself looking for a woman. He had orders to investigate this woman too, but he knew he was just going to kill her and leave. He liked to kill humans, to make it legal, he just had to look for one tiny bit of evil in that person and he was allowed to kill them.
The basement had loud music playing, a party was going on and it was filled with people. Master Brendan saw alcohol and drugs in every corner. He looked for the woman he was asked to inquire about and stood in front of her. She was across the counter, she was dancing to the music, and had a drink in her hand.
"Hey, pal," she said as she noticed Dark Master Brendan. "Wanna try my special drink? If you believe me, I can use magic to make these, they sell a lot, take this, try."
She was extending her hand to pass the drink, Brendan was quick, he slashed his sword to chop the head off that woman. As people around him noticed it, the music stopped and chaos was spreading. In the next second, Brendan formed innumerable water droplets around him and spread them in the room.
In the chaos, everyone was rushing to leave, but Brendan's water droplets were daggers to stab and kill the witnesses. Everyone fell one by one and no one was able to leave the crime scene.
Brendan was not done, he knew someone was sitting at the top of the huge wardrobe. Swinging his leg in joy, that mysterious man said,
"We met again."
Brendan turned around to find someone he expected. Domino was smiling at him as he jumped down the wardrobe with his scythe at his back.
"It turns out that you are causing some trouble for me," said Domino.
Brendan dashed to slash Domino, but he used his scythe to block the attack. They tried to overpower each other as their weapons were in contact.
"I will end you and your problems on this day," said Brendan.
"Stop kidding yourself," Domino said with a chuckle. "I was here to kill the same woman you wanted to kill. But the difference between my way and yours is too much. You killed so many who still could change their lives around. They deserved a second chance."
"Everyone who was here was a scum," said Brendan.
"Maybe, but they would not stay that way always," said Domino. "Just before you killed someone, she was thinking of never returning and a man was thinking the same too. They wanted to change, but you killed them before that."
They continued to clash with each other's weapons.
"So now you have feelings for your prey?" asked Brendan. "You kill ruthlessly, what harm does it cause you if someone dies a little early?"
"I let lakhs of criminals walk and live," said Domino, "But my principles are straight. I kill only the ones who get a chance to change but they don't. Brendan, you might like to kill, but killing someone innocent makes me mad."
"Stop making this complicated," said Brendan. "If you like to kill, you should come back to Koyaku, we get those kinds of missions now and then."
"I don't like to kill on someone's order," said Domino, "I like to be free. Lord Aynor rarely asks for my help."
"Nonsense," said Brendan.
"Whatever," said Domino, "Today, I am here to give a warning to you. Stay out of my way or your number in my list might just come up sooner."
"Why don't you bring it on?" asked Brendan. "Going to run away like a coward?"
Domino laughed and said,
"Unlike you, I have something important to take care of."
Domino dived out of the basement. Brendan was left alone in frustration as he could not stop Domino from leaving.
