Leah was diving in the waves with all the ease in the world. The thought of sharks did occasionally come to her, but she was set on not letting fear dictate her actions. Heck, she could die of a simple mosquito bite three weeks after the fact without ever having a clue. So she stayed in the break of the waves where she always had her footing. She was pretty sure a shark wouldn't risk going that far for prey.

She stayed there for a long time, mostly floating in the waves. She liked the rhythm, the calmness, the coolness, the smell, everything. For the first time since she could remember she was entirely relaxed, physically and mentally. She was alright with her choices and her mistakes, she concluded as she reflected on them. The conversation she had with Jungkook came to her again and so did Namjoon's. She sighed thinking of them, they would figure it out. They were brothers, as they put it, and they'd support each other through everything that needed to be done. She was confident everything would end up well for those two.

She was so inside her bubble she didn't understand why suddenly a hand appeared out of nowhere and pulled her with a wave. That sheer sudden force made her lean forward and, with the wave clashing behind her, she tumbled with it. She couldn't know which way was up or down and opening her eyes only made her dizzy, so she closed them and curled up in a ball, letting the water take her ashore until there was a chance to get up.

Eventually, the wave lost strength and started to recede. By then Leah was sitting on the sand with the water receding faster and faster around her, pulling her back. She started coughing, her hair was a mess that covered her eyes so she couldn't see anything and she was still dizzy. But knowing the sea would soon slap her with a new wave, she stood on her wobbling legs and walked inland.

"Are you crazy?!"

She tried to contain her coughs, feeling her throat scratch from the salt. She threw her hair out of the way hastily. She didn't recognize that voice.

The first thing she saw after being blinded by the sun was Aaden. He was shirtless in wet shorts dripping from his short military hair. His expression was somewhat pissed and she just frowned incredulously.

"What do you mean? Why did you do that?"

"Didn't you see the shark?"

"What shark?" She turned to the water to try and see something but she didn't see anything.

"There was a shark about five meters away from you."

His voice was stern as he stared her dead in the eyes. She felt a tremor of fear and her expression showed it, appeasing him.

She turned back to look at the sea, seeing nothing in its calm waves. "I don't see anything."

He stopped trying to dry himself, his tone was cynical, "And is it because you can't see it now that it wasn't there before?"

Leah raised her eyebrow, unamused by his tone. "I was near the shore..."

"Sharks don't care about being stranded if the prey is easy," he retorted callously. She had the impression he was becoming bigger as he spoke, probably because he crossed his arms over his chest, making him look buff.

She suppressed a deep breath, "Sharks are intelligent creatures. They hunt prey that is injured or slow. It wouldn't come near the sand bank and risk it all for a creature that could swim to shore and escape."

Aaden was surprised by her answer and more so by the fact that she was arguing with him. He was about to retort when she passed by him to get her stuff laying on the sand. For a moment his brain found it hard to comprehend what was going on. He was the leader of the warriors, no one talked back to him.
