A.N.: Do you remember when 'Stay Alive' came out? Did you love it? Stream it? For me, it was the number one song on my Spotify Wrapped in 2022, and a big part of it was because it was my soundtrack for writing Far Cry.

Trigger warning: tragedy

"You tell me."

"What?"

The camera panned on Park Saeroyi, who continued, "If I meddle in here, does that mean I'm nosy?"

Jungkook's free leg bounced over the bedsheets as he saw the scene develop on the TV screen. Seeing Jo Yiseo's swollen cheek because she got stuck by that icky guy made him fidgety. Leah's head on his lap, mostly on his other leg, meant he couldn't move, but the more things developed on screen, the more frustrated he got.

"I can't do anything if you stay quiet."

Yiseo smiled. "Okay." Jungkook pulled on his lip ring eagerly. "Help me."

"Whoa," Jungkook exclaimed, letting the series' action fulfill his pent-up energy.

He could feel every punch Saeroyi landed as if it were his own, along with fury and vindication that almost made him tremble. Finally, when the main characters all started running away across familiar streets in Seoul, he paused the video and turned to Leah.

"Woah, it's really—"

Good.

He didn't say it because his wife had fallen asleep with her head on his lap. Again.

He almost pouted, but then he shut the K-drama off and sighed, brushing her hair gently with his fingers. Taehyung had suggested they watch Itaewon Class since he had contributed to the soundtrack and knew the cast, and Jungkook was excited to watch it with Leah. Watching K-dramas in the comfort of his living room, tangled in blankets with a drink in hand, was his idea of a nice time, and he couldn't believe they had the chance. Well, sort of.

It had been a few days since they had started watching the series, as she wanted to rewatch a few Ghibli movies first, which was fine with him. But now they were only on episode four, so of course, he started to notice — she fell asleep all the time in the last few days.

He traced his fingertip over her multiple earrings, brushing her hair behind her ear. It was red and warm, and it worried him. She complained about chills every once in a while, and she hadn't gotten out of bed for games in two days. She told him it was all normal, but he worried. Even now, as she slept. He was certain her breathing sounded heavier than before, and he'd know. He always noticed those things.

She sighed in her sleep and rolled tummy up, away from his lap, and he pouted. How could she move away like that? Even asleep? He'd forgive her, but only because he knew how much she needed to rest.

Since they barely touched lunch, he decided to take it back to the kitchen. Yoongi-hyung kept making so much while still rationing their food, and Jungkook was thankful, but he couldn't fake an appetite.

He tried shaking his worry off as he went down the stairs to reach the kitchen, but it was hard. The situation was manageable so far, but it worsened with every passing day. They were never meant to be adrift for long, let alone two weeks.

He stepped into the saloon and found all his hyungs there, sitting around the bar quietly with a drink in hand. Jungkook thought they looked gloomy, even with the daylight and nice weather, and the words he picked up faintly made it even worse.

"If Namjoon were here—"

Hoseok tapped Jin to shut up and look behind him, and Jungkook gritted his teeth as he walked in their direction. They all knew how he felt about the situation and how his experience with Namjoon only made his heart more sensitive and anxious about everything now.
