"I give— I give up!"

Jungkook laughed and stepped away, cleaning the sweat on his brow quickly. As Namjoon panted, sitting on the floor and looking absolutely exhausted, Jungkook was heaving too with his hands on his knees. Eventually, Namjoon reached his left hand to get help, and the youngster quickly obliged.

"That was not fair at all," he complained while being pulled up.

Jungkook scoffed, "You fell on your own." He had a huge grin on his face and wasn't even trying to hide it.

Namjoon was smirking too, trying to appear bothered, "Hey you rascal, I'm injured! Is that how you treat your senior?!"

They were both goofing around when Jungkook seemed to catch something through the corner of his eye that pulled his attention. Namjoon followed his sight and wasn't surprised to find Leah and Lamar getting ready to enter the jungle to start their training. He reached for the water bottle, thinking that the moment would dissipate quickly and they could continue. Instead, the youngest couldn't take his eyes off her. And when she glanced at them and smiled, he had the biggest grin in response.

Namjoon raised his brow and then hid his smile behind the bottle.

When Leah and Lamar disappeared in the foliage, Jungkook turned to his hyung with a neutral expression. Pity that Namjoon knew him all too well.

"You seem happy," he started, giving him a knowing look.

He had seen Jungkook smile like that a million times in interviews. "I guess."

"So, did you end up talking to her?" Jungkook blinked, lost. "Yesterday you two didn't seem on the same page."

"Yes, we did. We..." he glanced at the jungle again where the duo had disappeared. He seemed lost for a second. "We don't agree on it one hundred percent, but I think we found a common ground."

"What was the problem?"

He debated if he should share. He took a deep breath, "I don't want this to change in any way your planning."

Namjoon nodded, "It won't."

It felt like a promise, and Jungkook knew his word was unbreakable.

"Leah wants to fight in the attack, she said she wanted to be by my side." Namjoon nodded gravely, guessing the issue immediately. "Only I can't accept that. I still can't, honestly. The thought of her in danger... drives me insane," he confessed, shaking his head with a defeated smile. "She took it as me not trusting her ability to do well, but I think that now she understands that's not it."

He was so caught up in it he didn't notice his own tone or meaningful expression. Meanwhile, Namjoon was observing.

"It's just that this has nothing to do with her capability, I just want her to be safe." Jungkook looked up searching for validation, and Namjoon nodded once in agreement. "But she wants to feel supported no matter what. Even if it kills me, she wants to go and I... have to accept her decision."

He seemed not too happy about it but seemed accepting, and Namjoon smiled while shaking his head.

"You've grown, our baby is growing," he sighed as if talking to the sky. Jungkook scoffed in embarrassment. "Of course, you would feel protective of her, she's someone important after all."

Jungkook nodded, feeling a taint of red reach his cheeks. He looked away, cleaning his forehead of sweat with his wrist.

"I've said this before, but I'm happy we met Leah." Jungkook's eyes returned to him. "She's a good person and she has done more for you in two weeks than any other woman I've ever seen in a long time."
