Jungkook had his rifle in hand when he barged into the suite, reaching the living room with the couches, desk and aftermath of a messy fight.

His eyes fell on Leah first, who was across from him, near the desk, looking at the side of the room. This made his eyes follow, ignoring the broken glass and blood, until he found someone sitting in the corner, looking small.

"Tae," he called in a whisper before rushing to fall on his knees and hold his hyung.

The look Taehyung gave him before grimacing and hiding in his embrace was heartbreaking, but still Jungkook was so absolutely relieved. He squeezed him in his arms, petting his hair and promising him that he had him. Because he did, he finally did. He finally had him.

"I got you. You're safe, I promise. I'll get you out of here. I'm so fucking happy," his voice cracked as he squeezed Taehyung harder, and Leah's eyes soothed at the sight.

Taehyung didn't trust her, she realized. After putting clothes on, even though he knew Jungkook was coming and that Leah was on his side, Taehyung had preferred to stay away while warily keeping an eye on her. She was more afraid that he'd hurt himself or run off, so she couldn't help standing there as though she was guarding him. This potentially confirmed his fears, but there was no other way. Panic or not, she wouldn't risk losing him. For Jungkook and the others and himself. Not when she finally had him in reach and could do something about it.

She turned to grab water and a sugar packet out of her backpack while Jungkook sniffled and pulled away. "We have to get you out of here."

"Here, give him this," she told him as she neared them. Taehyung's eyes instantly hardened despite Jungkook turning to grab what she was giving them. "It's likely hard for him to walk. He needs a minute."

"Here, hyung." Jungkook pulled away to give him space, and Taehyung shook his head.

"Listen, she— Stella, she was expecting her," his voice was quiet and shaky, but she still heard him. "She said she expected her tomorrow." Jungkook glanced over his shoulder apologetically, and Leah moved away to give them space. His eyes fell on Stella's limp body while Taehyung added, "You can't trust her. She was with that man, her brother. He's the reason I ended up here!"

He looked at Leah beyond Jungkook with fear, and Jungkook's heart broke even further. "I know. It's because she was taken, too."

Taehyung's glistening eyes were brimming with distress. "Stella was waiting for her! She killed her brother and— That's Leah! It's all her fault!"

Leah's back was turned, and yet she couldn't hold back the tears. She could hear Jungkook trying to reason with Taehyung, but it all sounded muffled as she tried to keep it in. It just hurt. Not only because Stella would see it that way and fill his ears with it, but because, in some ways, it was true. Even though she recognized herself so much in Taehyung, and even though she knew what it was like to be abused and drugged and to wake up lost, it hurt because it was true. That night, that place, and Stella's lifeless body with bluish lips were the living proof that it was her fault. She should have remembered and targeted that place straight away. She should have made sure that no one else would suffer at their hands like so many had suffered at hers while she was coerced and tortured. Her fear of facing her past and herself led to all this. Taehyung's suffering was her fault.

"Hey."

Two hands landed on her shoulders gently, and she flinched, hurrying to clean her cheeks. Jungkook turned her slowly to face him, and the pain he saw brought tears to his already red eyes. Yet more than the wet traces, the way she was battered hurt him too — her eyebrow was lacerated, she had blood under her nose mixing with snot, and there was a red bruise around her throat.
