Leah was clenching her fists and gritting her teeth, but she couldn't get closer. Jungkook was only wearing short black boxers, with the rest of his golden skin reflecting the torchlights as multiple people — mostly women — tried to reach and touch him. She knew he didn't need protecting, but it was boiling her blood how they could be so disrespectful. They were praising his tatau, body, and accomplishments, and she just wanted to shove them all off, but the crowd was too tight. Every time she thought she was making progress, she ended up further away. That could happen, but she had noticed a few glances from the women there and could swear the spite they carried. When two women turned their backs in front of her, connecting shoulders as if to bar her by closing ranks, she hissed.

"Really?!"

"What?" Maya was beside her, observing the whole thing casually.

"I'm right here!" Leah turned to her and pointed at herself furiously.

"So?"

"So?! They don't even hide it! They don't even pretend!" She was shouting, annoyed at the drums and loud chatter, regardless of who would hear her, or perhaps intending them to.

"Why would they?" Maya grimaced in confusion, "You guys are not married."

"What?" Leah blinked, perplexed. "No, so?"

"So, to them, that's all that matters. They don't know him," she continued before Leah had time to build up again. "He's a committed guy, but they don't know that. They're trying their luck. Unless you're partners under the Goddess' eyes, you're both fair game."

Leah's fists tensed up as Maya talked until she rolled her eyes in annoyance, "Even if that is the case, why would they behave like this? They don't even know him and—"

"But they want to. Jungkook is about to become part of the elite in record time," Maya raised her eyebrows, her intense brown eyes looking to make sure Leah got it. "They're all getting their panties in a bunch about it," she chuckled and turned to look again. Jungkook was respectful in keeping them at bay, but they wouldn't give up so easily, "Locking him down would set them up for life."

Leah scoffed and rolled her eyes again, suddenly remembering the conversations she heard back in Omani during the roast party. "Fucking pathetic," she spat before she could stop herself. "So he's a prize to be won, a piece of meat."

"A steamy, hot piece of meat." Leah glared and Maya only smirked, "What? It's true. Your piece of meat, but still."

"He's not a piece of meat!"

"Come with me."

Her eyes were drawn to the top of the stone stairs across from them, just like everyone else. The crowd instantaneously opened a path for Jungkook to get to Citra and the women stepped away respectfully, as if suddenly recognizing they couldn't touch him.

That very attitude was enough to sour Leah's guts. Of course, they wouldn't step on a line in Citra's presence but dared to glare at Leah while they hit shamelessly on her partner. That alone could have annoyed her, but the way Jungkook climbed those stairs as if hypnotized by the lack of clothes on that woman's body along with her crown and everything else made her blood boil.

"Leave us."

Leah frowned for a second before her stomach twisted even more. Citra had just dismissed her faithful warrior and waved Jungkook over to enter and disappear down a corridor, just the two of them.
