"How the fuck do we do it?"
Jungkook was getting impatient as Leah observed the place through her scope.
"We could wait for Aaden and go in with a team," she said quietly, alienated from where they were to focus on what she was seeing.
"No, I bet that's what Noah expects us to do," he pulled his hair back, pacing back and forth. "He might be there to see for himself that the prisoners are my friends, but for sure he'll also protect the place. Let's be real, we have been showing up on the south side of the island. He'd be a fool not to prepare for an attack there."
"Fair," she murmured, then changed the scope's direction. "We also could just try and sneak in and go straight to the prisoner's area to check if he does have your friends there."
"It's risky," he stopped and considered it.
"But you've been there, so you know how to get there."
"Still... last time..."
He didn't elaborate and she finally pulled away to look at him; his expression was contrite.
"Last time we didn't have guns and they could notice us missing at any point," she reached for him and he took her hand, crouching next to her. "I'm just trying to make sure we do this right."
"I know," he sighed and stepped in to peek when she moved aside. "I definitely recognize the zone with the cages, and the clinic we found you in." She stiffened by his side. "Do you recognize anything? Do you know what is where?"
"No," she answered, feeling her taut shoulders and neck pulling. "I don't remember much from before the moment you and Namjoon got me out."
He nodded with a hum, "Well, you're not coming in with me anyway."
She pressed her lips, "About that... I want to."
"That's a no."
"Kook—"
"Please, aein," he asked, pulling away to face her. "You're not used to it, we'd be easier to spot and I'd lose my focus while worrying about you."
"Meanwhile I'm here, totally away from you just seeing it all happen and worrying about you."
She was pouting and he reached to brush her neck, "That's right. Here, safe, free to worry, and help me in any way you can."
She puffed despite his sweetness, "You know I can't just stay away."
"You can and you will. Especially with Noah there, I don't want you anywhere near him."
She held his hand to flatten it on her neck, "Screw him, what if something happens to you?"
He grinned, "Then I know you'll come and bust me out."
She puffed again, "You thought of everything huh."
"Not everything, but... I'm certain about this. I think I'll do as you said: sneak into the prisoner area and check if they're there, if yes, I'll get them out safely, if not I'll probably just wait for Aaden and then we take the place when he arrives."
"And the other captives?"
"If I release them, they will just get shot in the crossfire or worse, alert the cartel to my presence too soon. I hope they survive, but they should stay put until we deal with it."
"And then you burn it down?"
"And then we burn it to the fucking ground."
She nodded and glanced at her rifle, positioned and ready to be used. "I don't know how much I'll be able to help this time. There are too many houses close together and they hide mostly everything." She faced him with anxiety in her eyes. "That's what I don't like about this."
