A.N. Surprise! Yes, it's an actual chapter, don't worry 😅 I'm traveling for work this week, and it's easier to post today 🤗
For those who didn't see it, I finished writing Far Cry on Saturday. There will be 99 chapters, the last of which comes out on April 15.
That said, the chapter you're about to read is... a lot. But you won't hate me, right? I mean, Namjoon already died, how bad can it-
You know what, I shut up now. See you next week! 💜

Leah closed the front door behind her and took a deep breath. The house was quiet and dark, and it was hard not to let that emptiness sink into her. Jungkook wasn't there anymore to give her confidence, and for once, she felt the pressure of having all his friends under her wing. They had never made it this far; they had a real chance to leave, but the time ticking by equaled unimaginable amounts of pressure to the likes she had never felt before. Not even scuba diving at forty meters depth felt that heavy — the weight of failure was enough to make her shoulders cower and her breath shake. She looked at the ceiling; she couldn't risk them, Jungkook, or her brother. Things had to go right.
The nerves were getting to her, so there was no way she could sleep; surely Jungkook would understand that, despite him asking her to. She turned on the light and looked around — having seven people living in that place sure was different. The mess of dirty dishes and weapons lying around was something that could have bothered her if there weren't more pressing matters. Instead, her analytical mind was puzzling in the last pieces — what could she do to make them even more ready?
She decided that whatever supplies they had in the house would be useless if they stayed behind, so she started her sweep. Everything that could be useful during their trip was valuable, from cloths to food and the extra bandages in the bathroom. She gathered everything on the coffee table downstairs and swiftly raided every single drawer and cabinet. No nook or cranny was left unturned except the room where the guys were sleeping.
She found extra backpacks and was busy distributing bandages, food, and whatever else would be useful for each one when she heard the stairs creak.
Yoongi found her like this: hyperactive and attentive, standing mid-action in the living room with her eyes on him as though she expected him to show up. She was unnaturally still for a second until she blinked and resumed putting whatever white kitchen cloth inside a green backpack, and he finally moved. If he had found anyone else, he would have likely felt a shiver or at least flinched. Thankfully, it was her.
He neared her slowly, rubbing his eyes awake. He rasped, "Do you need help?"
She nodded and pointed. "If you could wrap the bread and fruit in aluminum while I distribute the weight, that'd save us time."
He agreed and went around her to sit on the couch and start doing exactly what. His actions were mechanical, while hers were rapid and in succession like a well-oiled machine. It confirmed for him why Ella and the others always said that Leah was so structured and reliable. Which brought him back to the fight the night before.
"Where's Jungkook?"
"He left to get the satellite phone on the radio tower."
"So he decided to do it in the end?" She nodded, and he asked, "And about leaving?"
"He decided to leave, too." Her glistening eyes conveyed how distraught she'd been about it, but then her features soothed. "He decided that you and getting out of here comes first."
