The week went by really quickly. It was already Friday, and I was very excited about today.
I took a quick shower, got dressed, and brushed my hair.
I rushed down to Miss Paula's class, where I saw the paper up against the blackboard that was decorated with lots of different color papers.
I could see a lot of the people who were at the audition, and I waited until everyone was finished.
I could feel my heart beating in my chest as I searched for my name. I didn't want a leading role, I just wanted to be in the musical.
I got the second leading role, and I did this kind of awkward happy dance.
The play was about two best friends, Maci and Jacki, who fell in love with the same guy 'Joe'. It tears their friendship apart, and when Jacki disappears, Maci starts searching for her. She discovers that Joe has a few hidden secrets.
I was happy that I got the part of Jacki. She was not the lead, but still, I got a few parts. I went over to Miss Paula to get my script.
"Well done Zenè."
"Thank you, Miss Paula."
"I talked to Mr. Austen he said that he would see into it, and you would be put in the band."
"Thanks, Miss Paula, but I am still trying to find my feet here, and I don't think I am ready for that yet."
"Nonsense, there is no such thing as not being ready," She said, looking over at the door while a few people entered to look at the board.
I waved goodbye and went back to my room. Aralynne was not there, and I decided to play a few tunes on my guitar.
I took my guitar out of its bag and started tuning it in. I played a few chords before I got my music book and decided that I wanted to write a new song.
I started playing something when Aralynne walked in and sat down on her bed.
"Wow, what are you playing?"
"Just something I put together right now."
"You are really good."
"Thanks," I said, giving her a smile.
Aralynne was nice, and I started liking her more. She put on her earphones and started listening to something.
I stood up, putting my guitar in its bag, and I decided to head to the park.
*~*~*
I sat down on a bench. I enjoyed it when the park was so quiet, not being one for big groups.
I started playing a song on my guitar, forgetting about the world around me and everything bad that has happened to me since I got here.
Music took me away to a different world where it was just me.
I snapped out of my little world when this old lady came and sat next to me.
"You are really talented," She said, touching my arm and smiling.
"Thank you, ma'am."
"You should do it for a living, make music, you know, the Lord gave you a wonderful talent." She took in a deep breath, taking in the smell of the park.
"Someday, I promise, I will make it big with my music."
She smiled at me and walked away. I liked the vibe that she gave off. She was nice. She reminded me a lot of my grandma.
Maybe one day I will go into music and make it big, everyone will know my name, and I won't be the crazy girl from Texas anymore.
*Stay sweet Xoxo ✌.
