Rehearsals and Regrets

I woke up early today, earlier than usual, Aralynne was still asleep, and her breathing was even. I got dressed in my normal wear, well normal for me and headed out quietly.

I was still wondering what was going on with Aralynne; I haven't talked to her since she came back, she is usually so bubbly and talkative.

We had rehearsals for the upcoming musical today and I was really excited about it. While I was walking to the auditorium, I started to think about Niall again.

He tried to kiss me last night. Though I wanted to kiss him so badly, I couldn't and all because of Mike.

I have to tell him the truth. I have to tell him that I am still in love with my ex, but the worst part is, he is engaged to my cousin.

There were no people on campus, and I decided to rehearse, what I was going to say and how I was going to say it the next time I saw him.

"Niall, you are a great friend, but. That sounds dumb, scratch that, it's like saying it's not you, it's me."

"Niall, I have enjoyed every moment with you so far, but can we. Ugh! Even worse than the first attempt, it's like saying kill me now."

"Mike I am still in love with Niall. What did I just say? The stupid brain of mine."

"Get real Zenè just tell him the truth. Niall, I am still in love with my ex. It wasn't that hard was it."

I knew that I was going to break his heart, but I have to tell him the truth. I don't want to lie to him, he is a great guy, and I like him a lot.

A few students came walking past me, looking at me strangely, even whispering a few things to each other.

"I am not talking to myself, I was just rehearsing lines for the school musical," I shouted after them, making them stare at me again.

I rushed off to the auditorium, everyone was already there, and I was late.

"Get on stage Zenè." Miss Paula looked at me and pointed towards the stage.

Everyone was already in position and ready to go, I fell into my spot, and Miss Paula motioned towards Kyle to start playing the music.

Rehearsals for the play went on for a few hours before Miss Paula even realized that Aralynne wasn't there.

"Zenè, please come here?"

I went closer towards where she was standing. "Yes, Miss Paula."

"Where is Aralynne? As her friend and roommate, you should know."

"She was still asleep when I left this morning."

"Tell her not to be late for rehearsals tomorrow."

"Yes, Miss Paula."

Miss Paula looked at us then told us that we were all free to go and to remember not to be late again.

I packed up my stuff and hurried to my room to check up on Aralynne.

*Niall*

So I tried to kiss Zenè last night, but she turned her head away at the last moment. I really like this girl; she is different from everyone else.

Something hit my head, making me snap out of my daydream. Louis threw a piece of bread towards me making me catch it before it could hit my head a second time.

"Niall, where the hell is your head?" Louis asked while taking a bite out of his sandwich.

"Bro, far away from here."

"It's that girl, right? She is messing with your brain?" Liam asked from the corner.

"Yeah, she is so confusing to me."

"Why? What happened?" Harry stood up and took the seat next to Louis.

They fought about the last sandwich when I suddenly grabbed it and took a big bite. Both of them were shocked by what I did, giving me this little death stares.

"I tried to kiss her, but ... she turned her head away." I covered my face with my hands being all embarrassed.

"Maybe you had bad breath bro." Louis started laughing, making everyone else laugh with him.

"No dude, we didn't eat garlic or anything like that. I made sure about that."

I took the pillow that was closest to me and threw Louis with it, but my aim was skewed, and it accidentally hit Harry, making Louis laugh even harder.

"You like this girl."

"Yes, Liam, I do. Whenever I am with her, it's like time come to a stand still, and we are the only people in this world. I get this weird feeling in my stomach like I am being turned inside out. I have never felt this way about a girl before in my entire life."

My cheeks were burning up and I felt happy whenever I thought about Zenè. There was still a lot that I had to learn about her, but she was perfect for me. She is my princess.

"Bro, you don't just like-like her, you are in love with her." Zayn sat down next to me on the chair.

"Why don't you ask her to be your date for the meet and greet tonight and see what her reaction is when you try to kiss her again." Liam stood up and walked out of the room pressing the phone to his ear.

I decided to leave, gave everyone a goodbye wave and left in a hurry.
