We drove in silence, and I could look at Mike for the first time in my life and be happy that we were not together anymore. I had to get it off my heart.

We stopped at my home, the white picket fence stood out, and the big farmhouse was still so beautiful, and it felt like I never left.

Mom came running out of the house, embracing me in a big hug, and tears fell on her cheeks. I could feel her tears staining my shirt, but I didn't care, I was happy to see her.

"I missed you so much, baby girl." She took my face in her hands and kissed me on the cheek.

"I missed you too, mom." I was happy to be home.

Mom took Mike by the arm while he carried my bags inside. Mom was never this close to Mike, and it was weird.

We got inside, and I took in the smell of biscuits that mom loved to bake.

"Thank you, Michael, that you brought Zenè home." She embraced him in a hug.

"Weird," I whispered to myself. Why did she call him by his first name?

"Did you say something, Z?"

"Yeah, just going up to my room."

I took my bags and looked at the scene of Mom and Mike one last time before going upstairs. I opened my door and went inside, putting my bags on my bed.

I went to my window and admired the view. I could see Crystal outside eating hay; she was Nick and Megan's horse, a few feet from her was Rogan; my horse, a black stallion.

I turned around, making my way downstairs when Ashlee jumped in front of me.

"Zeester." She embraced me in a hug, I was confused about why she was here.

"What are you doing here?" My voice went a little high pitch as I didn't really like her.

"Is that the way to treat your cousin?"

"Hey, Ash, what are you doing here?" I said sarcastically. She wasn't my favorite cousin. We never got along that well.

"How has life been treating you?"

"You know, always great, just busy at Uni and you?"

"Oh, you know, just been busy getting....engaged." She flaunted the ring in my face. The diamond was so big that Princess Diana would turn around in her grave if she saw it.

"Wow! One question, though?"

"Yeah." She kept looking at her ring like it was the only important thing in the world.

"Who would want to marry you?"

"Don't be rude Zenè." Mike stood in the doorway. Looking at me, he walked over to Ashlee and planted a kiss on her lips.

"Mikey Boo." She gave him another kiss.

The scene that played out in front of me was both disgusting and awkward at the same time.

"What!? Are you two getting married?"

"Yes, Zenè. We are getting married." They both said at the same time.

That is when reality hit me, and I realized that Mike was going to be a part of our family.

"You have got to be kidding me." I threw my hands in the air, storming out of the room and down the stairs I went.

I could hear both of them calling towards me, but I just ignored it walking, no, running away.

The faster I ran down the stairs, the more out of breath I got. My legs gave in at the bottom steps, and as I felt myself falling, Lucan came to my rescue and swept me up in his arms.

"Why are you in such a hurry little sis?"

"Lucan," I said with excitement in my voice, wrapping my arms around him.

"Someone is happy to see me." He wrapped his arms tightly around me, making me enjoy the hug even more.

I missed not seeing Lucan that much. He was the only one who had always been there for me. Living in different states made it very difficult.

"Why don't you Skype me anymore, big brother?" I hit him playfully on the arm.

"Says the one that never calls or texts any of us." LJ's voice came from the living room.

I ran inside hugging LJ, but he wasn't an affectionate person, so the hug wasn't that long.

Having half of the family here made me happy.

*Stay sweet Xoxo ✌ .
