"Why didn't you tell me?"
Rose tried to hide the bitterness but her tone betrayed her.
Ashley took a deep breath,examining the blueberry cupcake she had ordered very carefully while considering her answer. It was a simple one, but she knew Rose would be disappointed no matter what she said.
In the end she took a bite and let the creamy sweetness fill her senses. One of the reasons she adore this cafeteria this much was that it always had delicious snacks. No matter if it was early afternoon or the middle of the night.
Ashley looked outside it was dark and cloudy. The chilly night was in an unusual unison with her moodiness right now. She wondered if she had woken Marcella up, calling this late. She wondered how she was doing. If she was safe as Yoongi had promised her she'd be. If she was still looking to locate her.
She did seem a bit worried about her on the phone. She also sounded tired and worn down, as if she hadn't had a good night's sleep for awhile now. But she asked no questions and immediately jumped in to help, no questions asked.
Marcella knew very well how time was of the essence and knowing her she'd be calling back in no time with the needed information.
She sighted looking up at Rose.
"Tell you what?" Ashley questioned at last. "There's so much to tell, I don't even know what you're referring to."
"Don't play dumb with me, I know everything."
Ashley chuckled surprising her brunette friend.
"No offense Rose," she said raising one hand as if to calm her. "You probably know a lot but I'm sure you do really know everything. How about you help me understand what you mean?"
"Dragons coming back?" She sassed shrugging irritated. "Yoongsung coming back? You claiming your place back into Serpents? Being in danger and needing help? Any of it Ashley!"
Ashley smiled bitterly. "We have barely talked the past few decade."
Rose sighted.
"Yoongsung coming back is as much my problem as it is yours," Rose declared. "I still can't believe that Bangtan didn't warn us about it."
Ashley remained uncharacteristically quiet, suddenly fascinated by the dull marble plate that held the blueberry muffin minutes ago.
"Your silence is deafening Ashley," the brunette narrowed her eyes suspiciously.
"What do you want me to say Rose?" She was angry now. "That I'm sorry? Well I'm not. I didn't trust you for awhile after what happened. I understand how you felt and why you felt the way you did. I also understood all the things you did and forgave you long ago for everything."
