"Why?" she demanded to know. "What exactly do you think we did that could result in our immediate termination?" she sounded offended, maybe even angry considering how he had waited for her with the gun at hand, ready to shoot.
He remained silent, completely disregarding her questions. He was refusing to answer her, just like she had refused to answer him.
"I see," she said taking a deep, calming breath, holding it before releasing it again.
She thought he was getting back at her, she was wrong. If it were up to him, this conversation would've gone completely differently. Marcella didn't realize how lucky she was that he even considered giving her the benefit of the doubt and that she had Ashley as her best friend.
"How about we make a small deal?" She offered at last when her cigarette was three drugs away from being finished.
"You fancy making these don't you?" he mocked with a side smirk she missed.
"You want to know where I got the money from, right? I'll tell you," she interrupted, ignoring his mockery. She took one slow drag, releasing the smoke followed by a dramatic pause. She had his attention. "But you need to answer a few questions of my own, first."
"Oh really, is that what I need to do?"
His tone could be taken as teasing.
Marcella pursed her lips and stared down, pressing on him to take her deal with only the intensity in her dark green orbs.
"You can either do that or we can remain in this particular stalemate. It's really up to you."
She shrugged, he smirked.
Suga gestured with a simple move of his had, making a circular motion, indicating to go on.
Small victories, Marci. Small victories.
"Ashley," said the redhead immediately as if her name was on the tip of her tongue ever since she started this conversation. "I am aware that the two of you somehow know each other very well. So I was wondering-"
"I thought I told you not to stick your nose where it doesn't belong. Stop snooping around our past," the harsh undertone in his otherwise steady voice couldn't be mistaken as a warning, it was a threat.
"I'm not... that'a not it... Just hear me out," she raised a hushing hand. "Ashley's been missing for awhile now and I'm worried sick about her. I've tried locating her for days, I've tried going to all the places she could be at. Asked everyone that could know anything about her whereabouts, I even went to the police," she pressed on seeing he wasn't protesting.
