"Goodnight!" Aly waved to Luke and Sierra from down the hall.
They echoed her words before they all entered their rooms for the night.
Aly laid in bed, smiling at her phone trying to come up with the best text to send him. She chewed on her lip as she typed and then deleted it, typing up another thought.
After what felt like a hundred years her tipsy brain settled on a very silly text.
A : my bed seems to be missing an oversized teddy bear
"That was dumb," Aly said out loud to herself after she hit send.
It wasn't long before a text notification popped up on her phone.
C : is that your idea of flirty texting?
A : hey! don't be rude!
A : i take it back, my bed is full
C : so then i should go back inside?
A : shut up
A : you were not in your car
C : maybe i was
C : maybe i wasn't
A : think you can get up to the second floor window?
C : is the front door broken?
A : no it has a camera
C : then...
C : dinner and movie tomorrow?
A : sounds like a date...
C : is that a bad thing?
A : i guess not
A : i'll see you at 8
C : goodnight see you tomorrow
A : goodnight cal
Aly smiled at her phone as she set it aside, plugging it in and falling asleep.
THE NEXT DAY
Aly spent most of the day applying for jobs, sitting at the kitchen counter with a cup of coffee and bowl of dry cereal in front of her.
"You're gonna loose your mind if you keep staring at the screen," Sierra's voice made Aly look up from the computer.
"Well I need a job so guess I'm gonna go insane," Aly flashed her sister a big fake smile.
Sierra ran her hand through her hair, taking a deep breath before she spoke, "I didn't wanna get your hopes up but Luke knows some people who might be able to help you get a job."
"Really?" Aly sat up straight, "Who? Where? What?"
"I said don't get your hopes up! And I don't know, he said he'd make some calls today."
