Later that night, once they had made it to the place they were staying, Aly hadn't meant to...but she had fallen asleep laying with her head on a pillow in Calum's lap. She had been super tired from a crazy week at work but his fingers in her hair hadn't helped her stay awake.
Aly yawned rubbing her eyes slowly turning to look up at Calum.
"Look who's awake!"
"Sorry," she sat up, "I didn't mean to," she yawned again, "Fall asleep," stretching her arms out in front of her.
"All good, wanna start dinner?"
"Sure, let me use the bathroom first," Aly stood up from the couch, heading to the bathroom.
When she came back she found Calum in the small grey kitchen, pulling things out from the fridge.
"I got the cilantro, mushrooms, noddles, ginger, onions, chicken...what else?" Calum asked.
"The broth is in the freezer, my mom sent it a few weeks ago," Aly pointed to the freezer drawer at the bottom on the fridge as she went to the pantry to grab a few last things.
Calum took a seat at the marble island top in the center of the kitchen as Aly started cooking. He watched her glide across the kitchen, chopping up vegetables, putting things into a silver pot on the stove.
After a while she finally set a bowl full of pho on the counter in front of him, "Do you want any chili or siracha?"
"Nah, I'm good," he smiled eyeing the bowl, "Thank you," he looked up at her.
Aly grabbed her own bowl and walked around the counter to sit next to him with her own bowl of soup, "You're welcome," she kissed his cheek.

Everything was cleaned up, they were now in pajamas, cuddled together on the couch as they watched a movie. Marijuana and popcorn lingered in the air.
The movie got quiet and Aly could hear something. She sat up, reaching for the remote, pausing the movie.
"What are you doing?" Calum questioned, still laying on the couch.
Aly got off the couch, "Is it raining?"
She peaked through the blinds, in the dim moonlight she could see the water falling from the sky, bouncing off the surface of the pool.
Aly smiled and quickly turned back to Calum, she rushed over to him, putting her arms out, wiggling her fingers at him, "C'mon!"
"Come where?" he lazily put his hands in hers, slowly sitting up.
"The rain!" she smiled like a little kid as he stood up.
Aly pulled him behind her, pulling open the door to the backyard open. His hand slipped from hers as she slipped away from the covered patio.
"C'mon, Cal!" she smiled, her hoodie starting to get soaked, her hair going flat.
"It's cold," he wrapped his arms around himself.
"Please," she dragged out the word, pouting at him.
Calum ran his hand over his face, finally, very slowly, making his way over to her, letting the water soak him.
"May I have this dance, sir?" she spoke with a fake posh accent, theatrically bowing in front of him.
He chuckled at her but played along, putting his hand in hers, "You may."
Neither one of them knew how to ballroom dance but they made up steps and laughed, twirling, just wanting to hold each other close as they moved around on the wet concrete.
Calum picked her off the floor, Aly bent her legs at the knees as he spun her around. She tilted her head back opening her mouth to catch the rain. Calum couldn't help but smile at her child like excitement.
He slowly put her feet on her floor. She slowly lifted her head to see him again, her hands sliding to his neck. She ran her thumb over his wet skin as their eyes met. Aly slid her thumb across the edge of his bottom lip, glancing at his lips then back to his eyes.
Calum smirked, slowly leaning in, wrapping his arms around her, pulling her closer, closing the gap between them. Aly smiled into the kiss as the rain washed over them.
"Wait! What time is it?" Aly suddenly pulled away.
Calum shrugged, "I'm not sure."
"Stay here," she pointed at him. She rushed into the house, not caring that she was tracking water everywhere.
Calum just stood outside, waiting confused.
"Close your eyes!" Aly shouted before opening the door all the way again.
"Okay," Calum said, hesitantly covering his eyes with his hand, the rain falling slower now.
Aly slowly made her way outside, covering the flame with her hand. Once she stood in front of him she asked him to open his eyes, which he did slowly.
"Happy birthday, baby," she smiled.
"Aly," he sighed happily with a small smile. He leaned over and kissed her cheek, "Thank you."
"Quick, make a wish before the rain puts it out!" Aly smiled one of her hands still hovering over the lit candle.
Calum closed his eyes, blowing out the candle.
"What'd ya wish for?" Aly asked, rocking on her toes.
"If I say it out loud it won't happen," he smirked, "Now can we go inside? I'm
cold."Aly nodded with a small laugh before the soaked couple headed inside to dry off.
