Aly pulled into the driveway almost thirty minutes later, thanks to traffic. She made her way inside, trying to sneak by the two boys in the living room but Luke sat up and looked at her as soon as he heard the door.
"Hey! How was the lunch?" Luke smiled.
"Good," Aly forced a smile, "I'm gonna go take a nap," she pointed towards the stairs.
Calum sent her a text while Luke wasn't looking.
C : be up in 5
A : no rush
Aly honestly didn't want to talk or see to anyone. She just wanted to lay in bed and cry, things went fine but she still felt like shit.
Once she made it upstairs, she exchanged her jeans and t-shirt for a crewneck four sizes too big and a pair of sleep shorts. She crawled under the covers, pulling them all the way up over her head, burying herself in their warmth. Aly closed her eyes, a few tears leaving them without her control.
Just after a few minutes a soft knock on her bedroom door is pushed open.
"Aly?" Calum whispered.
"Under here," her voice muffled against the comforter.
The bed sunk down, a hand pulled down the comforter.
"You okay?" Calum brushed some of her hair back from her face.
"Just tired," she shrugged, rolling onto her back.
"How'd it go?" he asks, leaning on to his hand planted over her body, beside her hip.
"Good, he was really sweet about it actually."
"Then why so down?" Calum dramatically pouts.
"Like I said, just tired, I didn't sleep well last night, I couldn't stop thinking about today," she lies.
"Get some sleep," he caresses her face with his hand, leaning over to kiss her forehead, "Text me later"
Aly just nodded as she watched him walk away.
THE NEXT DAY
"Have you seen her at all today?" Sierra asked Luke as the two stood in their bathroom getting ready for bed.
"No, I just assumed she was out," Luke shrugged.
"I'm gonna go see if she's in her room," Sierra finished pulling her hair into a ponytail before leaving the room.
Sierra made her way down the hall, standing outside of her sister's door for a second, she could hear the TV at a low volume. She lightly knocked.
"Come in"
Sierra pushed open the door, "Hey, I didn't see you all day, where were you?"
Aly knew the right answer and the wrong one, she went with the right one, "I had to run some errands."
"Like what?" Sierra was testing her and Aly knew it.
