THE NEXT DAY
"How was today?" Aly asked, applying eyeshadow to her eyelids. She stood in the bright hotel bathroom with the door open so she could see and talk to Calum. He had just gotten back from another day of press and was lounging on the bed. And she had spent the day exploring the city with her sister.
"It was fine, just answering questions like always," he shrugged from the bed, "I got to talk about you," he smirked.
She stopped what she was doing and looked over at him, "How so?" Her tone a mix of nervousness and curiosity.
"I don't remember how but Don't Stop got brought up but I called you out for liking it," he scoffed, the moment replayed in his head. He had turned to look at the boys as if they weren't being filmed and said 'My girl likes Don't Stop.' Luke and Micheal burst out laughing while Ashton sarcastically responded with 'Get rid of her,' but then quickly said, 'I'm kidding, I actually really like her.'
"Promise I didn't say your name though." He could tell by her tone she was nervous he had let the cat out of the bag.
"It's a good song!" Aly defended herself and the song.
"It's growing on us but it's still just a bit cringe," he scrunched his face in a way that showed disgust.
"Most of your songs from that time are cringe," she turned back to the mirror, "Have you heard 18 recently?"
Calum laughed.
"Y'all were some very horny teenagers," she laughed.
"I don't know if much has changed," he joked, laughing at himself.
"Trust me," she looked over at him, "I know."
Aly turned back to her makeup while Calum put on some music for them to listen to while they both got ready.
"Cal?" she hummed a few minutes later, setting down her bronzer brush.
"Hm?" he asked now from behind the shower curtain.
A conversation she had with Sierra today kept replaying in her head, she needed to ask him even though she felt bad for asking.
"Do you ever think about getting married?" she blurred out, "Not to me, but like in general. Or to me, I don't know. Actually never mind."
"Aly," he poked his head out from the curtain. She turned around so she could see him, leaning against the counter.
"Yes," he smiled, "Spending the rest of my life with you would make me the luckiest man ever."
"Cal," she blushed, stepping towards him.
"I love you," he smiled as she leaned over to kiss his wet lips.
"I love you, now finish up so we can go party," she smiled, kissing him again.
