A FEW MONTHS LATER
Aly sat with Calum on the couch of the studio the boys had rented for the day. They were the first two there and only because they had gotten breakfast at a restaurant near by, otherwise they would of defiantly stayed in bed until the very last minute.
Aly had only tagged along because Sierra was coming to help record some background vocals and then the two sisters were going to the car dealership to get Aly a new car since she had finally saved up enough money.
Aly sat with her legs crossed as she watched Calum's hands while he ever so casually leaned into the couch and played random cords on the bass in his lap.
"Can you teach me someday?" she asked, eyes still on his hands, watching them move slowly.
"Here," he sat up, starting to hand her the large instrument. Aly slid to the edge of the couch, sitting up straight. She's adjusted the bass in her lap.
"Okay, place this finger here," he moved her hand along the neck of the bass. Aly's heart picked up pace at how close he was. It was like that every time, his presence made her whole body tense and relax at the same time. It had been almost eight months, shouldn't the butterflies gone away by now?
"You're gonna have to breathe," he half smiled, turning to see her face.
"I know," she turned to see him, letting all of the air trapped in her lungs out at the same time, "You still make me nervous," she admitted, as their eyes met, their faces only a few inches apart.
"Is that a good or a bad thing?" He questioned genuinely curious and a bit scared she'd say it was a bad thing.
"I don't know," she admitted, "And I don't care," she laid the bass flat on her lap and then put her hand on his cheek and kissed him gently. Then again and again and again.
"I love you," she whispered, letting the words slip for the first time, even though she'd felt that way for a while. Her hand slipped from his skin and into her lap
Calum didn't respond at first. Aly slowly opened her eyes to look at him, a panic rising in her body as she waited for him to say something. It felt like hours had passed.
"I love you, too," he smiled.
"God, Cal!" she hit his chest, "I thought you were gonna just stare at me like I was crazy!"
"Sorry!" he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling them back onto the couch, "I just liked how it sounded coming from you. Say it's again," he kissed her the side of her head, giving her a squeeze.
"No, I'm mad at you now," Aly looked up at him. He smiled at her dramatics and quickly pressed his lips to hers again.
The studio door handle started to click open. The two of them jumped apart, Aly almost dropped the bass that was still in her lap but quickly saved it.
"Woah," Ashton entered the room, "Why are we throwing instruments around?"
"You scared me!" Aly picked up a pillow at threw it at the drummer.
"Sorry," Ashton laughed.
A few minutes later, Luke, Micheal and Sierra walked in the room where Aly, Ashton and Calum were all chatting about Aly's big upcoming purchase.
