Lucas and I have spent the past three weeks sneaking around whenever we could, and finding moments to steal kisses when no one was watching. I go insane waiting on the following weekend to arrive because that's when we get to spend the most time together. Well... on the days were able to meet up of course. I'm loving the passion between us, and how good he always makes me feel. It's like a dream, a fairytale come true, but as happy as it makes me, it scares me at the same time. Because just like all of the stories I've read in the past, mines too has a villain. Only difference is, the evil in my life is as real as day. And I know he isn't going to be so easy to fight off, should he discover the secret romance between Lucas and I.

Cheyenne! Elaina calls out from the living room. Shawn is here to pick up Sofie. Okay! I yell out. Well he's only forty three minutes late today. A big improvement from the last time, when he finally showed up nearly three hours later. I grab Sofie, her diaper bag, her car seat and make my way out of the room. I can take her to Shawn if you like. Elaina suggested as she looks me up and down. Good idea. I responded, and I hand Sofie over. I don't want to see Shawn today, and I definitely don't want him to see me. Especially since I'm dressed to meet up with Lucas and I don't want to play twenty questions with him about what I have planned for tonight. Not that I would even entertain his questions, but Shawn will not stop asking me questions about what he still believes he has the right to know. Surely that's going to put me in a bad mood and ruin my evening.

An hour ago, Elaina had questioned why I had fixed my hair and applied makeup, but I lied to her. She still hasn't figured out my secret relationship with Lucas, so I told her that I was going to a family function by my uncle's house. I can't believe that it's been weeks and no one, absolutely no one knows about Lucas and I. Let me tell you... It hasn't been easy, because Elaina is sharp and has always been good at picking up small clues. Luckily, she hasn't paid much attention to my whereabouts these days, because Tony has been keeping her pretty occupied. I love that she's with him now. They seem to make a great couple and she's the happiest I've ever seen. She deserves that and so much more.

As I watch Shawn strap Sofie into her car seat, I notice a group of his friends pulling up next to his truck. Oh great! He's probably going to sit there talking with his friends, meanwhile Lucas is waiting for me at the boathouse. Ten minutes later, and as I feared, I'm still waiting for an opportunity to walk out the door. Suddenly, I hear a siren, and I'm relieved to see a police car pull up and instruct all of Shawn's friends to move their vehicles. You're welcome! Elaina stands next to me and says. What? I ask. I know that you haven't left because Shawn is out there. So, I called the cops and told them there was a huge disturbance in front of my apartment. That was so wrong—but you're a genius! Thank you so much, Elaina, I'm already running late.

My palms are sweaty and my stomach is turning as I finally reached the boat house. I was meant to meet up with Lucas thirty minutes ago, so I pray that he hasn't left, thinking that I've stood him up. Hey gorgeous! I hear Lucas whisper from behind. Hi! I shout in excitement as I turn to plant a kiss on his lips. I'm sorry for being so late. Shawn took forever to pick up Sofie, then stayed talking to his friends for about twenty minutes before actually leaving. No worries. I'm just glad that you made it. He says. Taking hold of my hands and peppering them both with kisses. Besides, I kinda knew what was going on. You did? I ask in confusion. Yes, I actually drove by twenty minutes ago and saw his car parked in front of your apartment. I prayed nothing serious was taking place, but I knew you'd show up a bit late because of it.

Lucas is so patient and understanding. I love that about him. Thank you Lucas. I say as I come in for a hug. He doesn't respond. He just opens his arms and hugs me back—tightly. I was thinking we could take a ride downtown, maybe go for some Italian ice? He finally pulled away to ask. I know of this place with the best Italian ice in the city, and they are open till midnight. Also, everyone we know will be at a party tonight, so I'm sure we'll be ok. I'm a little afraid of being out there with Lucas, and I had assumed we'd be hiding out in a secluded area as always, but going out does sound like fun. Sounds perfect! I say as we both walked towards his car.

You know, this is technically our first date Lucas says, as he fastened his seat belt. Well technically, it's my first date ever. I respond as I check my makeup in the mirror. You've never been on a date before? He turns to ask. Pity clear in his tone. So where is this Italian ice shop? I asked in a excited manner. Trying my best to change the subject. I don't want to think about how I was never taken on a date by Shawn, yet he constantly took girls to the movies and dinner. Lucas catches on, and immediately begins to talk about the little shop, and all the flavors I should try.

Have you decided on a flavor? Lucas asks as he flags down the girl standing behind the register. Hmm, the cantaloupe looks good. I responded as I leaned into the cold glass. It really is a tough choice to make, since they all look delicious, but this one has chunks of fruit running through it, and I'm curious to see how it tastes. As Lucas pays for our desserts, I take in all of my surroundings. I've never been to this spot before and I'm loving everything about this shop. It's a tiny hut constructed of burnt orange and brown bricks, and the cutest wooden windows that I've ever seen. There's also a vine plant running up the sides of the building, and it's really giving me Tuscany vibes. I love it, and this cantaloupe flavored Italian ice truly is amazing.

Mmmm. I moan as I lick the spoon. This really is so good, but I'm doing all of this on purpose. Flirting and swiping my tongue on the plastic spoon, as I try to bring attention to my mouth. Can I have a taste of yours? Lucas asks. Staring at my mouth as I lick my lips. I scoop a generous amount onto my spoon and hold it up. When he opens his mouth, I quickly shove it into my own mouth and he laughs. C'mon baby, don't you want to share with me? He asks with a chuckle. I'm shocked to hear his words. So much so that I nearly choke on my Italian ice. This is the first time he's ever called me baby, and I must confess, I love the wit sounds. I place my cup inside the cup holder and proceed to straddle him. Then I bring my hand down to the lever on the seat and bring us both down into a more comfortable position. So— you would like some of my dessert, huh? I whisper. Yes, Please. He answers as he grips my ass and pulls me in closer. I grab my spoon, place the yummy treat into my mouth, then bring my lips to his. Sharing my Italian ice, along with one of the tastiest kisses that I've ever experienced.

After an hour of kissing, grinding and touching, Lucas pulled back and said. I really like you Cheyenne—so much. I really like you too. I also confess. Good heavens, I'm really falling for this guy but I have to remember that we're just having fun here. That was the promise— the plan. This was never meant to be a serious thing and I know that. We agreed on it the following day, after making out in my guest room. But are we going into a dangerous territory here. Because I don't see how we're ever going to stop this. It seems like the more we see each other, the closer we get. I feel desperate and a void when he isn't around, and when we're together, I feel like everything is going to be ok. I can't explain what's happening to me, but no one has ever made me feel this calm.

Let's take a drive down lake shore drive. He says to me as I climb off of his lap. That sounds nice. I respond. I do enjoy looking at the Chicago skyline, and tonight is such a clear and beautiful night. We'll definitely have great views driving down Lake shore. Lucas starts the car and begins to pull out of the parking, and I focus on finding good music to play, but have no luck. Suddenly, a big yawn takes over and so I just turn off the radio and lean onto Lucas's shoulder. We both sit in silence, our fingers intertwined, as we enjoy the amazing views our city has to offer. So far, this has been a wonderful first date.

Bonus paragraph: She hadn't been lucky enough to experience a full nights rest in so long. Always resting with one eye opened which she used to occasionally stare at her bedroom doorknob. But tonight was different. It wasn't like any other night she had lived through in the past four years. The traffic in her head halted, and her heart felt content. It feels wonderful to be able to take deep breaths and allow my eyes to naturally close as sleep takes over. She thought to herself as she laid on his lap. He, the stranger who somehow managed to help her trust again in only a matter of weeks, just sat there on the driver seat, caressing her head. He showed no disappointment that she would sleep through the rest of their first real date. He only focused on bringing her the comfort and peace that she yearned for in so long.
