Despite the weather forecast predicting a gloomy day, the sun is out and beaming through the hotel window, instantly waking me from my blissful sleep. Looking over at the clock, I noticed I've only had about three and a half hours of sleep. However, despite the minimal rest, I feel awake and full of energy.
Lucas is still fast asleep, and the mechanic shop doesn't open for another hour, so I decide to let him stay in bed a bit longer. I'm sure he could use the rest after all of the back and forth he dealt with when the car broke down. After I washed up, I scribbled a quick note to Lucas, and make my way down to the lobby to see what the continental breakfast buffet is offering this beautiful morning.
The breakfast choices are minimal, and I'm not so impressed with the set up, but I continue to look at all the options. Eek! the scrambled eggs look mushy and the sausage and bacon is definitely way over cooked. Well... what was I expecting? After all, it is a free breakfast, right? I decide to go with the bagels since they look edible, and I load on a few muffins onto the plate as well. Especially the ones loaded with blueberries.
While I wait on the bagels to toast, I continue to pile on butter and cream cheese containers, along with a few cutlery and napkins. The older ladies at the table next to me sigh in disapproval, and they seem to have an issue with the amount of muffins I've taken. But I don't think I'm taking advantage of the free food. They are mini muffins and I only took three.
You should save some for others! One of them says as she crosses her arms. She looks like the old lady at church who would always yell at the kids, even though they weren't doing anything wrong. I couldn't help the chuckle that escaped my mouth. I didn't mean to laugh at her, but I found her "opinion" quite humorous since she herself had about twenty sausages on her plate.
The smell of fresh brewed coffee starts to take over the lobby, and I immediately dart towards the coffee stand. Mmmmmm coffee. Come to Momma! I say as I grabbed a mug for Lucas and myself. Im convinced that I can't go a day without drinking this delicious magic potion, and I don't care to ever try quitting. It gives me the extra energy I need to get through the morning and most days, I need that. When I walked back inside of the room, I noticed that Lucas was still sleeping. Jeez.... he's a heavy sleeper. Something I didn't know. I was sure he'd be awake—since I accidentally let the door slam shut on my way out.
He is so beautiful! Especially in his sleep with his hair all tousled and his mouth slightly opened. I remember the first time I ever laid eyes on Lucas. He had been walking past my house eating a ice cream sandwich, and I remember wondering, how could someone be that gorgeous. The day he came to our house for Jason's party, I got a chance to really take him in. His personality was great and I was immediately obsessed with the boy that everyone else seemed to love.
My stroll down memory lane is suddenly cut short by my foolish thoughts. It might be silly, but now I can't help to wonder how a guy like Lucas would want me out of the bunch.
I recall Jason and Steve talking about the girls Lucas had messed around with in the past. Perfectly round bottoms, Big tits, "model like" and sexy bombshell were all words used to describe these girls. Me, I'm just plain Jane. Well, compared to the little hottie he brought to my job just last week. Now she really looked like a model! And when they walked out hand in hand, I couldn't help to notice how perfect they looked together. It made my stomach turn and my heart ache.
In the following days, I tried to erase the image of them sitting at the table as the lit candle made her already perfect complexion glow even more. But it was impossible. It tortured me and I thought of it every day and every night. Even though I knew Lucas was once again mine, I couldn't help to feel the jealousy.
I take another sip of my coffee, and I realize that it's already cooled down. Damn! I really wanted Lucas to enjoy his coffee while it was still hot. Should I wake him before it gets colder? Yes I should.
I lean in and gently give Lucas a shake. Baby! I whisper into his ear, and he slightly opens his eyes as a smile takes over his face. It isn't lost on me that this was the first time I've ever called him baby, and he made a look as if to say—I caught that. I thought I'd feel embarrassed using the word, but I'm not. It feels natural.
We should get a move on. The shop will be opening soon and it might be wise to get there early. I suggested. Good morning babe. He says in a raspy voice. Oh wow! I love his morning voice. It's sexy as hell! What time is it? Lucas asks. Quarter to eight. I answered. Damn—I should've been up by six! I have a few phone calls to make and we still have a long drive home. Lucas says as he sits up as he yawns and extends his arms. Thanks for the coffee babe. I need this!
As I sit here, I can't help the big smile that has taken over my face. We are waking up together and calling each other babe. My heart feels full as I turned to him and asked. Are you still tired? I really don't want to rush his resting time if he is still needing some. I'm fine baby. Even though you wore me out last night. He adds with a wink as he bites the corner of his bottom lip.
Don't start Lucas! I say, and swat him playfully. Your words are going to take us right back into that bed when we should be preparing to leave. Lucas places his coffee on the nightstand and suddenly, his face goes from playful to hungry. I yell and run towards the bathroom but he catches me before I reach the doorway. He throws me over his shoulder and I burst into laughter. Lucas! You have to eat your breakfast. I yell as I kick my legs back and forth. Oh I'm having my breakfast alright but it isn't going to be a bagel! No my sweet Cheyenne. You're my breakfast this morning and something tells me it's going to be the best meal I've ever had.
Although taking me back to bed was executed in a wild manner, we started things slow. Kissing for the first five minutes, as we proclaimed our love for one another. It was wonderful and I could have stayed like that all morning, but things got intense and hot very quickly. Making love nice and slow wouldn't be the outcome this morning. Right now, we hungered to devour each other. We wanted to fuck! We started on the bed, but we made our way through the entire room, with a passion that I didn't expect this morning. Nevertheless— I welcomed it. Surrendering to everything that he clearly wanted to teach me.
We're magic, he and I, and I can't help but to think that we were definitely made for one another.
Upon arriving at the garage, we learn that Jimmy's car had a busted radiator and that it would take at least two hours to get a new part brought over from the supply house and installed. Hmmm two hours huh? I suppose it Isn't too bad of a wait, considering the circumstance. Lucas turns around to tell me. Are you ok with that, Cheyenne? Not sure if you need to be home at an earlier time. I'm ok babe. Sofie is gone for the weekend with Shawn, and I'm not scheduled for work until Tuesday. I replied.
Lucas wraps his arms around me and brings his mouth to my ears. I love the sound of babe coming from your mouth. He says as he gently bites down on my earlobe. And chills take over. We'll be back in few hours. Lucas tells the mechanic and we head out the door. How about a morning walk by the trail? He suggests. That actually sounds perfect, Lucas. Even though it's only thirty two degrees at the moment, the sun is out, bright and full, and it makes the temperature much more bearable.
So how long were you up for before waking me? A few hours. I answered. A FEW HOURS? He says in shock. Did you have trouble sleeping? He asked with concern in his voice. No! I just woke up early is all. Hmmmm... are you sure you weren't attempting a getaway? Lucas says with a smile and pinches my cheeks. Well..... I actually sat and stared out the window for a while. Thinking and occasionally watching you sleep. Thinking about us? Lucas asks. A bit yeah, but mostly I was thinking about how you could have any girl that you want, yet you chose me.
Honestly, I can't believe I actually confessed that, And now, I'm so embarrassed. Lucas stops and turns to cup my cheeks. I hope what I'm about to say doesn't bother you Chayenne, but I need to say this. I know you dealt with a lot in the past, and have always felt unwanted by the men in your life. And yeah, girls throw themselves at me all the time. But baby.... now and forever... I want you. All of you and no one else! I can't help the tears welling up in my eyes. This man has told me everything Ive always wanted to hear in just two minutes. In my heart, I can feel how real his words are. Where have you been all my life, Lucas M Taylor? I've been here Cheyenne—waiting for you.
