Unexpected you

Chapter 21

We've been out here for hours, hanging out and acting like fools, while Lucas and I continue to fool everyone. It is very crucial that no one ever finds out about what we have going on, but at the same time, it's turned into a game that I'm enjoying quite a bit. A game of true skills and impeccable timing. Coming up with clever strategies to sneak off just to share a few minutes of passion, and carefully timed seductive glances while everyone else is occupied with their own stories. It's daring, thrilling, and certainly the excitement that my life was lacking. I'm relieved that both Elaina and Diane have stopped asking me questions about Lucas, and Jason believes I'm too embarrassed about the rejection to bring up my crush ever again. This helps my situation.

As the conversation about basketball and baseball continues to take over the porch, I find an opportunity to go inside and freshen up. I'm uncomfortably sweaty and this hot summer night has not offered us any cool breezes.

Twenty minutes later and after a quick shower, I'm feeling much better and good as new. When I stepped onto the front porch, I noticed our crowd had gone from eleven people, to only four. Myself included. Where the heck did you disappear to? Elaina asks. But before I can answer, she cuts me off. Never mind, I know you. She was probably in there cleaning the kitchen or something. She says to Tony and rolls her eyes. You really don't know how to take a day off from cleaning do you, Cheyenne? You got me, I quickly answered. Feeling relieved that I did take a few minutes to wash the dishes.

Well... it's been fun y'all, but I'm tired! Tony stands up and says. Baby—are you ready to go inside? I am. Elaina replied as she grabbed a hold of his hand. Tony wraps his arm around her waist and says to her. Come on baby, I'll rub your feet. I couldn't help the smile that took over my face as he said those words. They are so cute together and Elaina deserves a good guy like Tony.

As soon as Tony shut the front door, I turned to Lucas and smiled. Hi. Lucas says as he begins to walk my way. Hi. I respond and stand from my seat. I feel happy that after all these hours, Lucas and I are finally alone. Thank goodness you came back out. I had assumed that you had fallen asleep on us. Lucas says as he runs his hand up and down my arm and causes the goosebumps to rise.

His beautiful blue eyes are once again staring into mine, and my heart melts. I just stepped inside for a moment to take care of a few things. I replied. I feel relieved that no one came inside the house while I was occupying the bathroom. Cleaning up around the apartment sounds a lot less embarrassing than washing the sweat off my body just in case Lucas and I decided to, you know... get busy.

I'm glad you came back out. Lucas says as he steps closer to me, and my heart begins to race. We are now three inches apart and I immediately begin to panic as I realized that we are out in the open. Lucas, we need to be careful. Someone can see us. I remind him. But he ignores my concern and pulls me in anyway. I thought about you all day Cheyenne. He whispers into my ear. You did? I asked in a panting voice. Yes, I couldn't wait to see you tonight. To kiss that sweet mouth of yours. He says while grazing my bottom lip with the pad of his thumb. I love when he does this, and I'm amazed at how quickly my body responds to his words.

My heart is beating so fast, and my hands begin to sweat, as he slips his hand under my shirt and up my back. He has no idea how much he turns me on. Of how much self control he makes me lose. In this moment, I think about kissing him, but we are outside in plain sight, so I hold myself back. Lucas turns to look behind us then leans forward to look down the block. We're always so worried, him and I, even though we sometimes try to hide it, and act like we don't care. But tonight, Lucas is out of control. Touching and squeezing my most sensitive parts and I love it! Do you think Elaina is staying in her room all night? He asks. Definitely. She's had a long day and Tony is with her. Honestly, I don't see her coming out of her room until the morning. I answered. Sooo..... it's only you and me, right? he questions in a tone not much over a whisper. Only you and me. I confirm.
