My Sunday was a busy one. I spent my morning and afternoon researching schools and tending to my hangover... again! Thankfully, by five pm, I was feeling much better and good as new. As I look down at the scattered mess of papers, brochures and notes, I'm pleased to see that all of my hard work and research has left me with a binder full of useful material. I've got some great information on school grants, low income daycare and other types of assistance programs. This will be my guide for the next few months. I also took some time to dig up all of my personal information such as birth certificate, social security card ect. Overall, It's been a pretty productive day.
It really did help that Sofie was with mother. I don't think I would have been able to get so much work done otherwise. Isabella is also stopping by today and I'm excited because I haven't seen her in a month. She doesn't really visit much but I've always understood why, and was never angry about it. She hates Shawn and refused to ever come over as long as he was still living here. Around eight pm, Chris arrived to pick my sister up, and I was glad to have had some time to visit with him as well. He and Isabella have been together for so long and he adores her. He's great, he's like the older brother I never had, and my mother simply adores him.
I had every intention of going straight to bed after my sister left, but we started to get visitors and I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep. Not with all the ruckus my friends are known to create. Before you knew it, I was on the front steps hanging out with Elaina, Steve, Lisa, Diane, Jason and Tony. I figured why not. I might as well take advantage of my free time, and have as much fun as I possibly can. I spoke to my mom over the phone this morning, and it turns out that Grandma was having such a good time with Sofie, that mother couldn't bear to leave just yet. Now that she's decided to stay until Monday evening, I have plenty of time to rest, should tonight turn into another all nighter. I'm sure it will.
LUCAS! I hear Tony yell as he stands from his seat. What's up bro? It's been a while. Tony says to Lucas. Wait—what? Tony knows Lucas as well. What the hell! Does everyone know know this guy but me? Apparently so. As the beating of my heart picks up, I quickly look ahead and see Lucas making his way towards us from across the street. I do my best to remain calm, but I'm not sure how long my nerves will stay in check before I start to sweat bullets. For what it's worth, I'm relieved that my hangover is no longer a problem, but I'm even more glad that I fixed myself up. I don't want to ever be caught by Lucas looking a hot mess!
Earlier today, I talked to Isabel about my new crush and plans to approach Lucas. Naturally, she strongly encouraged me to go for it. You deserve to have fun after wasting all those years with that loser. She had said. Besides, look at you! There is absolutely no color in those cheeks, and you look like you could use some excitement in your life. I'm fine! I try and convince my sister. No—you're not! And If you ask me, I'd say that your pale appearance is due to lack of sex! It's called a hangover Isabel. I responded and bursted into laughter. Well....whatever—you should still get laid! I hadn't realized how much I missed my sister's outbursts and crazy opinions, but I have missed the way that she always makes me laugh. My twin is very opinionated and almost always has some sort of advice to offer. I never listened to any of them before, but this time, I just might.
When I noticed Diane and Elaina walk inside the apartment I immediately took the opportunity to recruit some help. I know Elaina won't be too happy about it, but what do I have to lose, right? Besides....I'm sure she'll understand—eventually. I approach the two as they sit on the counter slicing limes and mixing drinks, and I just go for it. I need your help. I say in a low tone. What's up? Elaina asks. I need you to send Lucas to the store for some more drinks. But we have plenty of liquor. Elaina replies. Just do it and send me with. I instructed. Elaina is now starring at me with curiosity and I begin to feel the sweat dripping down the sides of my face. Also, my hands are beginning to shake in a very obvious way. OH NO! Elaina yells as she jumps off of the stool. I'm not getting involved in that. Am I missing something here? Diane asked as she squeezed the lime wedge into the beers. Only that Chayenne here might be trying to hook up with Lucas! Well I can't say that I blame her. That boy is one delicious looking man. Diane says with a wink my way. Heck, If I weren't so damn happy in my relationship, I'd be trying for a piece of that myself! Diane's reaction was unexpected, but boy do I feel way more at ease about my thoughts. She gets it.
