Cheyenne—Desi had to leave early tonight. Can I count on you to cover section C? I hear my boss ask as he yells from the kitchen. Before I can answer, he says. I would ask Danny—but I've noticed that people prefer you, and you know that I like to keep my customers happy. Of Course. I quickly replied. Without any hesitations.

It can get very busy on Saturday nights, and I was hoping for an easy Shift, but waiting on more tables, equals more tips—right? From what I was told last week, that section is dedicated for walk-ins only, but mostly everyone who comes here, makes a reservation weeks before. So I doubt that I'll be swamped in that area. Also—Jimmy says that section barely gets filled, so I think I'll be ok.

I'm so lucky to work the hours that I do. Six pm—till two am. They aren't hours most people desire to work, but I have Sofie, and daycare is just way too expensive at the moment. With my new work schedule, I'm able to feed and bathe Sofie, just before heading out to work my shift. It's perfect, and Mother takes over once I'm gone. Because Sofie's bedtime is still seven thirty pm, she doesn't have to stay up with her for hours, and that's best for her. Not that she'd mind. Because Mother has always loved her one on one time with Sofie.

The commute to work is also convenient. I take the Grand avenue bus, which is a minute walk from where I stay, and the ride is less than ten minutes. Super easy, and I love the fact that I'm able to stick to my routine every day, because the bus is always on time.

Are you sure you can handle both sections on your own? Jimmy asks as he pours sangria into a pitcher that's filled with apples and orange slices. I'll be okay Jimmy, I have my comfy shoes on today. I say as I kicked up my leg—to show off my new pair of black working shoes.

A few seconds later, I noticed a beautiful girl walking through the door, and boy is she eye-catching. Her hair is curly, unbelievably gorgeous, and long beautiful legs which are noticeable since she's wearing a fitted black dress that stops mid thighs. Her skin is flawless, and if I saw her in a picture, I would bet that she clicked on the filter mode.

Name under the reservation Miss. She's asked. Oh sorry, we have no reservations. Will that be an issue? She questions in a sweet voice. No, not at all Miss. We have a section specifically for walk-ins, but we'll need a moment to set up your table. The host informs her. Perfect! She said with a smile. Exposing the most beautiful white set of teeth I've ever seen. Is the other individual in your party here? The host asks. Yes, he's parking the car. She answered. As she pulled out a compact mirror to check on her makeup.

As soon as she spoke the words, I was completely shocked to see Lucas walk right  through the doors. You have got to be fucking kidding me. Out of all the places he could have gone to, he comes here? I want to run behind the bar and hide, but my feet are suddenly glued to the floor. He's seeing someone, a gorgeous woman with an incredible body and they're on a date. All dressed up and on a date. To a nice restaurant and.....and....all dressed up! Immediately, I feel the crush of jealousy and an ache in my heart. We've never gone out to dinner like this. Well, there was that time we went for Italian ice, but it was nothing like this.

I run into the bathroom and take a moment to breathe and splash water on my face. I don't know why I'm so bothered by all of this, and I don't know why I'm questioning what he's doing with another girl, and why he's never done certain things with me. I know better and my subconscious reminded me a few seconds ago that Lucas and I had a secret affair. Going out in public wasn't a thing we were able to do.

Cheyenne. Jimmy whispers from behind the bar. You've been standing in the same spot for way too long, and your tables are asking for you. Oh no. I quickly snap out of my state, mentally scolded myself, and grab the pitcher of Sangria I had come for. I hope the couple who asked for this Sangria isn't too upset about how long it's taken me to bring them their drinks.
