His Odd Behaviour

JAMMY

The Catholics, The Great Philosophers, Heavenly Bodies, Manuscripts, at marami pang iba.

Mabilis niya itong nilapitan bago muling magsalita, “this wood… this is a piece of wood kung saan ipinako si Jesus Christ noong April 3, Anno Domini ayon sa Roman history.”

But what made me wonder a lot was the last words Sheila had mentioned. What is it? Amino Dominic? Ami…

“A.D. means Anno Domini. Latin words which means ‘In the year of our lord,’ nakangiting wika ni Sheila. “I know you are wondering what does it mean. I can't blame you since kakaunti lang naman talaga ang nakakaalam sa bagay na 'to.” Napatango-tango na lamang ako sa tinuran niya. Maybe Sheila is a fond of religious stuff kaya't ganun na lamang ang kaalaman niya patungkol dito sa simpleng relic sa harap namin.

“It's just a piece of wood. Nothing special with that,” ani ni Denver na bigla na lang sumulpot kung saan.

Bumaling ang tingin naming lahat sa kaniya.“What are you trying to say?”

“What I'm trying to say is… a piece of wood is a piece of wood. There's nothing special with that.

What is he trying to imply?

“What are you babbling about, Mr. Ramirez?”

As if he was my mortal enemy number one. Is he satanic or what?

“You need to understand, Ms. Fernsby that everything in this mortal world has its own face value for everyone. You might see a flower alongside an urban highway as most beautiful flower that the universe has, but to anyone it's just a normal weed.”

“But it's a piece of wood from history, espeically used to crucify our saviour Jesus Christ!”

“Well, it's your own way of putting meaning on a simple wood. I more appreciate a wooden sculpture of Daedalus than a piece of wood to display a hoax demigod in Jerusalem.”
