Steve continues to sell ice-cream as I lean against the counter and watch him. I catch some girls staring at him. I mean of course they would stare he's Steve Harrington for god sakes but, I can't help but feel intimidated. They look so pretty with their hair and makeup and I just wonder if Steve wants a girl like that. Like Dustin said once we crack the code, he'll be able to have girls and galore which makes me insecure. Dustin could have said it as a joke but I still would take it to heart.
El and Max wait for their ice-cream and I walk on over to them with a smile on my face. "Seems you too are getting along now finally." I say and we all giggle. "Mike's been a shit." Max says letting me know all the gossip. "Spill." I say excited for the drama. Max looks over to El and then back to me.
"Mike has lied to El, saying his Nana is sick and couldn't hang out today-" I gasp dramatically "so I decided to show El there's more to life than stupid boys." She finishes as I smile. "Next time, invite me. I've been here all day with these lot, I'm starting to get a headache." I laugh
Robin opens the window and smiles as me and Steve turn our heads towards her. "We got our first sentence." She says with Yura behind her. I smile at her as I shift my body over as Steve leans on the counter. "Seriously?" I question excited. "The week is long." She says in a Russian accent, which is pretty decent. Steve looks disappointed. "Well, that's thrilling." "I know but progress." She says before closing the windows.
Me and Steve turn our bodies back around to El and Max as Steve hands them their ice-cream. "Okay here you go, you got a strawberry and then a vanilla with sprinkles, extra whipped cream." He states as they take a lick of their ice-cream "thanks." They both say in unison.
I turn to Steve and see a weird look upon his face like he's just realised something. "Wait a second. Are you even allowed to be here?" He questions and I smile. They look at each and laugh running away. "Bye Jules!" They shout and I laugh. "That.....okay." He says awkwardly before turning towards me.

I pull out my Walkman from my bag, Jenni brought down since she's amazing. Because I know for a fact we're gonna be here until we solve this code. I grab my cassette with the song 'cold as Ice' inside of it. I have others inside like 'runaway', some Madonna, all that type of stuff.
I put on my headphones and play cold as ice. The song rushes through me as I kick to the beat, thinking I'm in a music video. Steve looks and me and laughs staring at me in awe as I smile back. "Enjoying the music, huh?" He asks, sitting next to me on the counter.
"Yeah, it just takes my mind of things." I smile slightly, taking down my headphones and pausing the music. Steve searches my face for anything sadness. "Jules, are you okay?" He questions. I mean how do I answer that? There's so many things running through my mind. Even my dam dead mother is pricking her fingers in my thoughts.
