Hawkins Indiana'Bodies floating in the water'
Two hours later it was finally the end of the day. Fear ran through me for Barb. How could Steve even think that Barb would ever skip school. She is literally the teachers pet, no offence to Barb. He just drives me crazy when he says and does stupid things, it's like he wants me to argue back or say something.
I walk out of the school when I spot Nancy on the pay phone outside school. I decided to walk up to her and see what she's doing. "Hey Nance" I whisper standing right next to her and she gives me a nod. I overhear the conversation and I guess it's between her and Barb's mom. My heart breaks for the parents, for all we know Barb is missing.
She ends the call and turns to look at me. "Did she go home?" I question worried. "No, she didn't" Nancy says as her hand starts shaking. "Nancy just stay on the positive side for now okay? I know that's difficult but just for now" I declare as she nods as we start walking towards the cars.
I know I shouldn't stay on the positive side but if I let that fall the Negative side will cave in and make me anxious and terrified. You never come back from the negative side until you find what you're looking for. Most of my childhood has been reflective on the negative side and I don't want to go back there. Not now.
We see Steve, Tommy and Carol leaning against the car with this ginger girl from the photo place in the school I can't remember what it's called as Jonathon stands there looking at them. "What's going on?" Nancy questions as I try to read in between the lines. "Here's the starting lady" Tommy smiles as I look at him confused. "Jonathan?" I question as he turns to me.
"What?" Nancy asks confused. "This creep was spying on us last night" Carol states going through the pictures. Steve turns his eyes towards me as I held his gaze. He shrugs his shoulders "he was probably going to save this one for later" she announces staring into Jonathan's eyes passing the picture over to Nancy.
She grabs ahold of the picture and stares at it. I lean my head over and look at it. The picture shows Nancy pulling her shirt over her head. Nancy looks up to Jonathan. Why would Jonathan do that? I really want to believe he didn't do this is purpose. I break out of my thoughts only to see Steve walk closely up-to Jonathan "See that's the thing about perverts, it's hard wired into them they can't help themselves" Steve announces with a straight look on his face and he rips up Jonathan's pictures.
Tommy starts laughing behind him and all I could do was watch. "So you just have to take away its toy" he states walking back to the car and goes through his back. "Please, not the camera!" Jonathan pleads "Steve! I yell. I'm not defending what Jonathan did but that camera might mean something to him. All those pictures and memories. Steve walks back upto and holds his hand out with the camera in. "Steve don't!" I growl as Jonathan walks up to grab his camera Steve drops it.
