YO GUYS GHOSTY HERE AS ALWAYS BUT IT'S PIPER'S BiRTHDAY, SPAM THE COMMENTS

Damien was debating whether or not to call Emilio. They hadn't hung out on Friday as they planned. Damien made something up. Emilio showed up to all his classes for the rest of the week. It's Saturday now. Damien knew he should find out what was going on, but something was telling him bliss was the way to go. Something else was saying he should wait until he's more awake. He had gotten up barely half an hour ago and was still in pj pants and no shirt. But of course, he wasn't gonna listen to that. He called Emilio. After 3 quarters of a ring, he picked up.

"Hello?" Emilio asked

"That was fast" Damien said

"Was it? I wasn't waiting by the phone or anything it just happened to be right there I wasn't wait-" Emilio said, rambling

"Emilio, it's okay" Damien interrupted, "You're okay"

"Okay" Emilio replied, "What's up?"

"I wanted to come over? Is that okay?" Damien asked

"Of course. You don't have to ask" Emilio said

"I just wanted to make sure because things have been..." Damien paused, finding the word, "Delicate, with us lately"

"You can come over" Emilio said

"I'll be there in 5" Damien replied, hanging up

Damien quickly put on a hoodie, the first thing he had near him, along with some jeans. He then grabbed his keys and left his dorm, going down to Emilio's room. He got there and knocked on the door lightly. A tired-looking Emilio opened the door. He was in a loose t-shirt and sweatpants. Damien remembered suddenly seeing Emilio without his shirt. But he realized if he wanted to have a serious conversation with Emilio, those thoughts weren't gonna work. He took a small breath.

"Hey, Emilio" he greeted

"Damien," Emilio replied

"How much did you sleep last night?" Damien asked, a small smile on his lips

"No" Emilio replied

"Thought as such. Can we make coffee and talk about this?" Damien asked

Emilio nodded, letting him in and closing the door after. He went into the kitchen, standing at the counter and beginning to put in the coffee grounds. Damien wanted to hug him from behind. Put his head on Emilio's shoulder, or kiss him on the cheek. But he restrained himself. He had to be serious. Damien was starting to hate being serious.

Damien sat down and Emilio brewed the coffee silently. He poured a cup for each of them, putting in whatever Damien wanted in his. Emilio drank his black.

"So." Damien said, "What the fuck is it? Why are you doing all this? It doesn't make sense. Is it how you process loss or? Help me out here. I'm not mad at you I just- I want things to go back to how they were."

Emilio sighed quietly and took a sip of the coffee.

"Please tell me. You lying is more annoying. I promise. You're not amazing at it." Damien said, taking a sip

"Hey!" Emilio said

"Just saying" Damien said, smothering a grin

"Look, I just..." Emilio started, "It all stems from my mom going missing. That's why I yelled at Henry. It's also why he disowned me. I didn't want to overwhelm you. You know that now. But it goes back to him disowning me. Last Saturday they called me down and..."

Emilio didn't finish.

"And?"

"Since he disowned me. I have no claim to nobility."

Damien paused.

"You don't mean..."

Emilio stayed quiet.

"No- No! I can't lose you too! I can't- What?! How do we fix it?! How can you stay?! There has to be a way!" Damien exclaimed, "Please, tell me there's a way"

"Getting engaged is the only way. I'm out as gay, so I can't get a fake female fiance. I can't get a male one because it's illegal." Emilio said

Damien hugged Emilio tightly, pulling him close. Like if he let go, Emilio might disappear. Emilio hugged back.

"You can't... you can't leave me here... I..."

Damien couldn't find the words.

"I couldn't tell you. You just had your father's funeral, I- I couldn't." Emilio said

"It's okay. I get it." Damien said quietly, "I shouldn't have been so hard on you. I'm sorry too."

"Don't apologize, please. You're already gonna make me start crying." Emilio said, sniffling a bit

"Don't cry" Damien said

"You, don't cry" Emilio replied, laughing shakily

They both started laughing and crying at the same time. It was confusing and emotional and finally something they would normally get into. Damien was struggling to wipe all his tears away.

"Oh my god, we're insane" Damien got out through laughs

"Maybe that's why we work" Emilio said, smiling to him

"Maybe" Damien replied, "Do you really have to go?"

"I do. I wish I didn't." Emilio replied

Damien pulled Emilio close, kissing his cheek gently.

"Then we'll just have to make the most of this week." Damien replied, "Starting, with finishing all the Disney movies you haven't watched yet"

"My god," Emilio said with a sigh, a smile clear on his face, "Alright then"

So that's what they did. Distracting themselves. Because the truth hurts. But it hurt a little less if they'd go through it together.
